Can I get some feedback on an 08 F350 6.4 please..

You are the first person I have EVER heard say good things about the 6.0:confused::eek:

.

Put down the pipe dude...

7.3 is the best for durability PERIOD!

The 6.0 is the worst diesel motor ford ever had. Navistar and Ford were in court over settling the warranty issues. I know 3 people who blew head gaskets, one guy had his under warranty. the others, $8000.00 Cad touch. the cab has to be lifted, and it takes over 40 hours to repair. Once that is fixed, all you have to worry about are injectors, and the HPOP, which aren't cheap either.

6.0's seem to be hit and miss... Mostly miss I would say.
I have had decent luck with my 04, still some problems though.
EGR cooler, EGR valve, 2 alternators.
I run the edge attitude.
My pa's 06 has been trouble free, and turns on a dime compared to my 04.
He runs the edge platnum and his truck runs flawless and has had zero problems.
My other co-workers with 6.0's have had a lot of issues.
One has his turbo torn apart right now due to overboosting.
The 7.3 is definately the most dependable powerplant out of the fords, the tranny is another story.

I’m not brand loyal. Real don’t care

I don't know but my F-350 with the 6.0 has been great. Best truck I have ever owned. My Snowmobiling buddies have a dodge and a Chevy. They don't hold a candle to the 6.0. Great power and has been trouble free. Except an alternator that went out. I must be one of the luck ones but I love it. Also the body on the fords are so much better built.

We have a mega cab dodge here at work that I hate. The most uncomfortable truck I have ever sat in. JMHO :beer;

But you should ware your seatbelt anyway
LMAO......

I hate to point out the obvious, but I think you read as well as you spell (its "wear").:D:D

Check out post #20...:beer;:beer;:beer;:beer;

Marcuso speaks the truth, the 7.3 powerstroke is way more reliable than any other engine put in the "superduty." The older 7.3's (97 and older) were great motors as well.

In my opinion....it is EXTREMELY unlikely for anybody to pull 30K to 40K trailers with their 6.0 and put over 300,000 miles on them without any problems. Especially when pulling a 30k trailer with a crappy bully dog "canned" tune. That is the recipe for a major head gasket repair. The 6.0 has a number of MAJOR design flaw's that keep it from being the ultimate powerstroke; weak head bolts, several turbo problems, inter-cooler pipes cracking, egr coolers cracking, HPOP fittings failing, up-pipes cracking, injectors failing, FICM failing, poor cold weather starting ability, wires chaffing...should I go on??? The 6.0 can be a good powerplant, but it takes some work to get it there.

Let me guess (UintaBoys), you're the only guy on all the 6.0 forums who has never had any issues, and the other 10,000 members (including myself) are all making it up?????:face-icon-small-dis

Ive got 85k on my 05 6.0, and I use it like anyone should. Mine has been in the shop way too many times for me to even consider it to be reliable, and my service manager (a realist) agrees. He does say the 6.4 has been mostly problem free, except for a few minor issues. Many owners complain about the economy in the 6.4, but mine in the 6.0 is crappy too (especially after the 5 or so re-flashes I have gotten so far. I think the 7.3 is the Powerstroke to have if looking for good empty highway economy.

Maybe the 7.3 was just way too awesome for the weak 4r100 in the 02? I guess that means the "engine" is unreliable.

Seriously though, opinions are like.....well, you know the rest!
