Could the Matryx with the 7S gauge be using the gps for ground speed and not a pickup for track speed. So the gauge is showing how fast the sled is going and not track speed.
Definitely not, seen major spikes in speed on multiple videos where ground speed isn’t changing.Could the Matryx with the 7S gauge be using the gps for ground speed and not a pickup for track speed. So the gauge is showing how fast the sled is going and not track speed.

If I recall , doo claimed thier etech 800 was 164hp and a few yrs later claimed thier 850 had 10 more hp at a claimed 165 hp, ?? I've been In the sled sport many many yrs, I've read every published magazine since the 70s, one thing doo is good at is deception and lying, they have been doing for yrs and I've made a pact with myself, I'll NEVER support them, if thier lips are moving, thier lying, and I'm a guy that's had yamaha, cat , and polaris since the mid 70s, but I'll never fund doo. I ride with mostly doos In the revy area, every time the guys break something or wanna do some tuning, it's off to the shop, cause u need a press or specialist tools or a tear down to compleate a simple task, where as pol is so simple (KISS) that ,most tasks take a fraction off the time and your basic simple tool kit can handle the task. Please don`t take this as bashing, Polaris makes good sleds as well as all of them do, I just do not like it when Polaris comes out and says they have been testing for 2 or more years and that HP levels are the same from 0 feet to 11,000 feet with NO CLUTCH changes, that is BS, I am not saying that sled is no good, in fact I said in a early post, it`s the hottest thing out there this year, and I love it, We all win from Polaris bring out a factory turbo, in fact i snow checked one, to compare with my Ski doo factory turbo, but After the BS i hear and the videos i see, i doubt what Polaris is saying is the truth, not bashing the sled, stating facts, nothing that will not be fixed for next year, just stating facts as i see them, no doubt it`s going to be the best Polaris sled they have put out to date. i am not a die hard Ski Doo lover, after all i had an 2008 and 2009 dragon 800 twisted turbos, how sad is that, lol. had a 2012 pro on juice.
I screenshot turcotte 3hird climb that was in his latest vid climbing straight powder, his gauge was 76 km, I believe its 47 ish mph, considering a stocker is 41 42ish mph, and I ride with a tbo 175, his track speed isn't great but after watching some off the boost vids, the boost clearly makes more track speed. In my group of 160 class tracks, the guys always comment on my ground speed with my 2.6 850, and I would imagine the 2.75 would pull similar characteristicsWell the trackspeed is pretty low than if thats the case. This is also being discussed on other forums. The matryx is quick, but is definitely not fast, as seen on the speedo. Two Polaris Canadian ambassadors are claiming the readout is KmH, not MPH.
Chris Browns vid definitely reveals that the sled needs clutching, and more refinement.
The matryx definitely has the weight advantage, HP advantage at that altitude, I say the doo and the poo are very close.
Remember doo claimed 165, but the 2020.5 was dynoed at 178, my buddies NA expert was dynoed at 171.
Regardless these turbo wars are exciting to me. Im really glad that polaris released that sled.
Dan Adams posted a video climbing with a Boost, that was 47-49 mph as well.I screenshot turcotte 3hird climb that was in his latest vid climbing straight powder, his gauge was 76 km, I believe its 47 ish mph, considering a stocker is 41 42ish mph, and I ride with a tbo 175, his track speed isn't great but after watching some off the boost vids, the boost clearly makes more track speed. Quote of the year!Well in one of burandts early boost videos he posted it spinning 57 mph at 11,800ft. He compared that to NA 850 turning 37-38 mph at that elevation.
These skidoo vs Polaris comparisons are for guys riding meadows and doing rainbows in open bowls. Which is fine if that’s you. But for me, even if doo had double the power...who cares! That chassis is still miles behind in technical terrain. It’s too heavy, wide, and a pita to wrench on.
Guys who say Polaris is following doo don’t ride steep nasty trees. Cuz in that terrain Polaris is looking down on everyone else.
Yes you are right, when Ski Doo brought out their turbo they sent them to dealers to let people test ride them, for 3 months any one could test ride these turbos, and they beat the **** out of them, I don`t see Polaris doing that. now why is that ? some people walk around with blinders on. and yes i snow checked one, but after seeing it in person and watching videos of it I am not so sure
Cluctching for wet heavy snow vs the sugar snow Colorado gets can also make difference.Well as far as your buddy telling you the 21 runs way better than the 20.5 doo is total BS, I have a 20.5 and my buddy has a 21 there is no difference in HP or the tune, we switch all the time.
So why would the REP tell me they were going to send a engineer up to Canada with clutching and a new tune ? but he could not fly because of covid. So they sent a box that could put a new tune in it,
So much for being tested for 2 years. these are the facts, not bashing the sled, there is no way you can run the same clutching from sea level to 10,000 does not work that way, the same as Wheel House said, if they had been testing for 2 years they would not have to send another tune, Ski doo never had to change their tune, most people run stock clutching and it will work but it`s not loading the turbo engine at lower elevations and will lose performance. the Polaris boost will be a great sled when they finish testing and get it dialed in, but that should not take 2 or 3 years to do.
Like Polaris said “Game Over”. Don’t be angry that Doo doesn’t have the highest horsepower or a supply problem. Through a leg over your preferred brand and ride it like you stole it. Chassis wise Polaris has been better then doo for a long time. Now they have the highest production 2 stroke turbo, but all you can do is belly ache about practically anything that is Polaris. Just stop. You sound like a sniveling millennial who just got passed on a job for the old man with expierence.Well that is BS, So only Polaris has supply problems ? Ski Doo turbo sleds are not limited, only the Polaris boosted sleds are limited, not any other Matryx, so no limit on chassis just turbo and parts for the turbo, the turbo is made in house by Polaris, so why would their be a supply problem ?
Ski Doo has no problem getting turbos, Polaris have no confidence in their turbo`d sleds. and don`t want the public to ride them, because of the lack of confidence in their product. If they did have confidence in their product they would have demo sleds for the public to beat the crap out of, just like Ski Doo did with their turbo`d sled, they did their testing and were confident in their product. not really that hard to figure out. not bashing Polaris. facts are facts. the simple truth of the matter is Polaris has not been testing the boost for 2 or more years, or they would of things all lined up for the production year of 2022, but they don`t. maybe they should buy their turbo`s from Ski Doo.
So after spending alot of time reading this thread I think the general consensus is that the boost is way better than the turbski. Haven't seen any logical explantation why it wouldn't be. Looks awesome and hopefully lives up to the hype so I can get a 2023.
What is with all the secrecy from Polaris? It’s 26 days from the release day and there still aren’t any reviews from anyone that isn’t sponsored by Polaris. What’s up with that weird wavering sound when the sled is to the bar. Why isn’t Polaris explaining what is happening? I sure hope the people that snow checked have back up sleds for next year.???
