Calling all the people that have test ridden a boost!! FUEL...

I was all hyped and excited about the boost until the turcotte vid that was posted. A 155, 60 lb lighter sled making less than 50mph track speed!! I know what my doo makes in those conditions geared down two teeth on the top!
At least the doo chose a fresh line where the Polaris chose to poach all the way to the top.
There are 3- 4 races in that video, some with totally untracked snow. And Jon Jean on the summit is a long time doo guy, and an absolute wheel man...

That slept on every hole shot in the vid. Turcotte knows how to holeshot a sled.

I know what my 165 doo turbo makes for trackspeed in those conditions, I was disappointed to find out, that the reading on the speedo was KPH.

Hole shot don't make up any where near that Kinda separation.. They could've gave him 3 sled lengths from the start and the Doo would've been toast. I'm a see it and believe it guy myself but this comparison almost makes me think I don't need to see it again.

funny when the polaris guys take a sled with more boost and HP and beat a sled they really think they have something, LOL that`s like me racing a 800 against a 600. but after all Polaris is all ways trying to catch Ski Doo, and they have to cheat to beat it.

Turcotte did get it. He is like my buddy who always goes on 2 1/2 instead of 3. Give him 5 or even 10 feet for it. Either way the polaris was sh!tn and gettin. It was still like comparing a race between a stock doo and turboed doo. Night and day. The polaris has always got up on snow and went where doo has always dug down and trenched a little. Doo just always had more power. Now they don't. If the polaris ran identical to the doo it would still be a win because the doo runs awesome. Pick your poison

So what you're saying is...."the Pol 850 turbo beats the Doo 850 turbo like an 800 beats a 600.".
You heard it here, folks.

yup, about 20HP difference between a 800 vs a 600, only a fool would compare an 800 to an 600.
but when you ride a Polaris that`s what you have to do to win. LOL compare a 185HP turbo against an 165HP turbo. Only Polaris riders would do that.

I guess Polaris guys are excited about the new sled in the Polaris forum...also happens to be the highest HP consumer sled to date, kinda looks like it rips so far, and is getting great reviews. Sounds exciting to me.

If you have some Doo math that says the Doo actually won those (flagship vs flagship) races because maple syrup...fantastic, I’m sure the 14 year olds in the Doo Facebook groups would love to hear it!

What about the 20-40 pound weight difference? [emoji848] the polaris makes more pounds per hp below 7500 ft according to snowmobiler TV BEFORE the booooooosthhh came out.

Compensation... the worst name or term to use for trying to sell something expensive. Imagine if dodge called the hellcat "small block chevy compensator"

Or

"Hi, do you have a small penis? We can't help ya but we can make you feel better" but in French Canadian spek. Lol

Polaris chasing skidoo? Man I bet a skidoo race chassis sx sled would be a riot, but the engine/chassis dynamics don't work for me in the mountaisn compared to others such as... well everyone else. It is what it is.

It's polaris's best stock sled with warranty against ski doo's best stock sled with warranty. Both 850s. It's the same thing people have been comparing for years. Second sucks. I always tell my daughter that you want to be first or third because second is the first loser.

He got the hit, I’ll give you that...but it was a blowout, so it’s irrelevant.

I dunno, I have no problem getting 50mph trackspeed on short pokes on my turbo. Even geared down two teeth I was bouncing off 60mph in longer pulls. Im on a stock tuned sled as well. Am I Clutched? yes.

Was the turbo doo working correctly, was the belt wore out?. All Im saying there is lots of variables in that vid. IMO that doo turbo worked so horrible I thought the vid was staged. Seeing the difference in that vid between the two sleds the Polaris should of been making 70+ mph trackspeed. When turcotte posted it was in KM, I was very puzzled by it.
The last vid turcotte poached a track where the doo took a fresh line all tge way to the top in a steeper part of the hill, wouldn’t call it a fair comparison, or a blowout.

It doesn’t matter to me that Polaris has a turboed sled, I actually excited to see it.

Like I said above - if you have some math where the Doo is quicker....that’s great! I had some math years ago where I tried to convince people sledding cost about the same as skiing because I didn’t have to buy a $700 seasons pass and lodge priced beer or something (I can’t even remember the calculation)....Sounded great, didn’t work.

The “last race” is a completely untracked slope...watch the whole video. Spoiler alert - still a blowout. The Polaris makes more power, runs higher boost, and is lighter...so it’s not an unexpected result, unless you are otherwise committed. Are there some variables? Yup! But again, it was a blowout in 3 different races...so there’s a pretty good margin for error built in. I’m sure there will be plenty of other opportunities for comparison, but this is what we have for now.

Math??? There is no math, the gauge is a tuning tool. Dont know What vid are you watching, at 13:50 Brett poached all the way to the top, and look at the tunnel bag on the doo, like I said variables.
Regardless, the doo lost, but as I said the poo didn’t impress me in that vid.
Hopefully I will be with new polaris boost this weekend.

Yes you are right, when Ski Doo brought out their turbo they sent them to dealers to let people test ride them, for 3 months any one could test ride these turbos, and they beat the **** out of them, I don`t see Polaris doing that. now why is that ? some people walk around with blinders on. and yes i snow checked one, but after seeing it in person and watching videos of it I am not so sure i want one.

There is this thing called Covid. Have you heard of it? It might have messed up some supply chains?

Well that is BS, So only Polaris has supply problems ? Ski Doo turbo sleds are not limited, only the Polaris boosted sleds are limited, not any other Matryx, so no limit on chassis just turbo and parts for the turbo, the turbo is made in house by Polaris, so why would their be a supply problem ?
Ski Doo has no problem getting turbos, Polaris have no confidence in their turbo`d sleds. and don`t want the public to ride them, because of the lack of confidence in their product. If they did have confidence in their product they would have demo sleds for the public to beat the crap out of, just like Ski Doo did with their turbo`d sled, they did their testing and were confident in their product. not really that hard to figure out. not bashing Polaris. facts are facts. the simple truth of the matter is Polaris has not been testing the boost for 2 or more years, or they would of things all lined up for the production year of 2022, but they don`t. maybe they should buy their turbo`s from Ski Doo. lol

I don’t think anyone is going to pull you out of this tailspin....but, yes, different manufacturers have different supply chain issues and production capacity during covid. EG for bikes I handle KTM’s (virtually no factory delays/shortages....just shortages because people bought all the popular models), Honda (sporadic but widespread shortages/delays through all lines and PE side), and Kawasaki (even further shortages/delays).

On the snowcheck end, there will be a cap on non-turbos if Snowcheck continues at its current pace.

I think that was the point 1709; the sled has more power, better holeshot (gets up on the snow better), crazy track speed, and minimal tunnel drag. They do have something! It is superior to the Doo in all those areas (wont get into the chassis feel itself; leave that to personal preference). What are your other metrics; more tunnel space for bags and a removal snow flap? Doos are super reliable, and the 850 is a great motor.

In terms of performance, the new Matryx Boost flat out kills the doo turbo.

Snowest needs to bring back the Deep snow shootout or what ever it was called. Sleds independently set up, timed up an untracked hill. Brand ambassador poaching lines and jumping the start on a pre-production sled doesnt mean much.
Sorry cacsrx1...but it would still lose. In the end the Polaris beats it in every performance catagory.....the only unknown is reliability overtime; we will see in 2022. Just like when Doo came out with the Turbo in 2020.5, it killed everything stock (true 167hp @ elevation). This is the same situation (185-190hp @ elevation) on a chassis that gets up on the snow better.
