Buying new coat. ?

Klim for me for sure. Their warranty is outstanding from my personal experience. The only negative thing is that their styling is getting a bit boring. They need to get a new and different look....like Castle is doing. Just my opinion.

I bought a new Klim valdez parka last year and would never go back to my old gortex shell. warm dry and very comfortable you get what you pay for .I also have togwattie bibs and Klim gloves.I hope to get their boots soon as well

never have had anything for the last 8 years except the same Columbia Titanium jacket and pants i bought 8 years ago. Same for the Sorrel boats.

I've got Klim Klimate Jacket and Bibs. they're great. Never ever get wet or cold. And to the guy who said the Klimate is a bit bulky.. I somewhat agree with you. It's great all season long until the spring hits. Then the fact that it is lightly insulated makes it a very warm jacket. I would take it over the higher priced gortex shells though.

But on the plus side. I have used it in minus 45 C conditions with nothing but a base layer and a cotton shirt... then my Klimate Jacket. I was not cold at all.
Switch it up... it's now plus 5 C. It's a bit warm but I just unzip the zipper a bit and it's fine.
Even if snow gets in I don't end up wet at the end of the day. That's how good this stuff works.

IMO, get whatever fits you the best and is still a good quality (get what U pay for). If it fits good you will be a happier camper at the end of the day. Too many people are just trying to compete with the Jones's and care way too much what everyone thinks. I personally have a mix of almost everything, but at the end of the day be either rain or shine am warm and dry.

I've had extremely good luck with my TOBE jacket. Keeps me completely dry and is very comfortable. Lacks a little for warmth because its just a shell but I prefer it that way so I can layer underneath. I have never been wet or cold at all in the 3 years I've been wearing it. Would highly recommend talking to Josh about them he will take great care of ya.

I have worn snowboard gear (686 and Sessions) for the past 3 years)
This year i stepped up and spent a few more buks
just ordered a set of HMK Ascent pants and a ToBe Rockafella jacket
it's a lot cheaper to buy HMK stuff right from the site - talk to Lucas, he's wicked
also picked up a brand new leftover ToBe jacket from Matt @ Lake Effects - also a wicked dude to deal with

I think that sport specific pants are important as they seem way more durable
Jackets - well, Im not 100% sold yet
Most jackets (Klim included) are only like 5-8k waterproofed and similar breathablility
I think companies like ToBe (Rockafella), HMK (Gambler), Scott (Freeride series) have hit the nail on the head

It's all about BREATHABILITY as well as H20 proofing
They all make a jacket that is directed towards the "freerider" that have proper waterproofing (at LEAST 10k), similar breathability (at LEAST 8k) AND fully taped seams
This are all features that most snowboard companies put into their jackets and half the price of actual snomobile gear
Pants get the chit beat out of them, but I dont think jackets take the same abuse (at least mine dont)

KLIM does make some good gear - no one can deny that fact
It just does not fit me proper, nor do I like the asthetics of it
I come from a backcountry snowboarding background, so I like some "flashier" stuff!! haha!

Now I know, all or at least most of these snowmobile companies direct some of their funds to keeping out riding ares open, I get it
But I wish MORE companies would make gear that is directed more towards keeping us dry AND cool (when were sweating out arse's off), at a price that is more affordable

Anyways, Im in all actual snomobile gear this year, supporting our companies - let's hope it all pans out! ;)

Klim valdez jacket, freeride pants, adrenaline boots, and gloves. don't like the gloves. absolutely love the valdez I ride when it's warm, i stay cool, rode when -1 with just a polar fleece base jacket and a t-shirt and stayed warm. wouldn't trade it for anything. Thought Klim was a lot of hype before I tried them and man was I sold
