Buyers beware of summitxtreme in colorado! *no integrity*

I bought a truck from him and in our agreement he agreed to send me 300.00 back for work he didnt get done but agreed to do before delivery and after he got home he flat out said...

"So as far as me sending you any money, its not going to happen. The paper that you signed stated "as is, with no warranty." You got a great truck for the price you paid.

  1. He makes agreements to your face and wont honor them
  2. He wont answer his phone, he ducks calls he is dishonorable
  3. He even ducks pm's since he knows he is wrong but wont face facts
  4. he mis represents products

Keep in mind the price I paid was his asking price so i didnt beat him up and if he didnt want to sell it at this price he should of asked more but that is irrelevant. The man made an agreement and welched. I am not out to rake him over the coals for the 1800 worth of repairs just the agreement he made of 300.00 bux. He flat out agreed to it and if he lies and says he didnt just re-read his last pm...he admits to the "sending money". If you want to read the rest of the story it is below but this wraps it up in a nutshell he has no integrity.

Long story short I bought his truck on here at his full asking price and when I asked him over the phone if it had any known defects/drives out good he said "yes truck drives great and looks great" and I asked if windshield was good...he said no but he would have one installed in it if i were to commit to buying it. I did commit within 15 minutes to purchase his truck at his FULL PRICE that he was asking since I felt it was fair.

He offered later to bring the truck to Omaha because he has family there and it was over xmas. I agreed to wait since it would help out on getting the truck and he said it would be no big deal since he ALREADY was going there for holidays.

Next day he calls me and says he wants to move up the delivery to virtualy the NEXT day. I agree and get his cashiers check for full price ready and we meet. I get there and the windshield is still broke. His response "I didnt have time to get it done" which there is no doubt, but was not my fault he pushed up the delivery. I looked truck over and it looks as he described. I went to check the 4 wd and it didnt work..."oh yeah the automatic hubs quit working so you need to manually lock it in" there are other issues but I am going to stop right there because this is where he hits the loser button. I asked him what we are going to do about the windshield and the 4x4? he hesitates and says well "I put fuel in it" I said we need to come to some sort of agreement and I offered to stand the cost of replacing the windshield and repairing the 4wd if he would agree to 300.00 less on the price. He agreed that was fair and said he would mail me back the 300.00 with the title when he got it.

Not placing blame on anyone here and not trying to be judgemental. But you agreed to buy something for $14,000 dollars without even driving it? I wouldn't buy something for $1400 sight unseen. Then when you did see the truck did you drive it then? You definatley had the oppurtunity to back out but I am sure you thought you were getting one up on the guy. We just sold a 2001 Lariat with all options Club Cab long box with a color matching topper Diesel and only 52,000 miles for $22,000. So 14 would have been a good deal. The thing I always try to remember when buying something is that if it sounds to good to be true, It probably is. Sorry for the deal gone bad, But the thing you can remember is what goes around comes around. Someone will get him someday.

Yes that is how you have to do it when buying off the internet, hence why I asked him the correct questions that revealed the fact it had a broken windshield.

Yes, this is how I discovered 4 wd was out.
you definatley had the oppurtunity to back out
Yes I did, this is when we negotiated the return of 300.00 to keep the deal together and he agreed to this and welched. I just thought since he revealed the person he is to me it was only appropriate to let it be known. He is looking to buy a new sled and is perusing the classifieds now so felt it would be in other sellers best interest to know what kind of guy he is.

wtf. I could not sleep at night if I were to pull crap like that off. The description said no problems what so ever, and now all of the sudden the 4 wheel drive won't work and he admitted to knowing about it. What a loser!

Sounds to me like you asked all the right questions and he dodged the downfalls... evading questions is the same as lieing in my book... :(

the only thing highmark did wrong was he didn't this guys rep status.... it's red:rolleyes::rolleyes: your welcome highmark

His reply to this

If you ever want to join the group of real men I will be at the snowies January 22-24...feel free to walk into the Bear tree and ask my 40/50 year old azz outside for a sit down, I will show your 28 year old azz the real meaning of honesty and integrity! funny how money always comes first. is always tough to walk from a deal when you travel far or have to wait. i have learned over time that a lot of sellers count on this. when you finally get together things aren't quite what they are supposed to be. this is when you have to put your feelings on hold and go with your gut. i've walked from many deals where things end up not being what they were supposed to be...

That PM is real close to an admission of guilt on his part. Take him to small claims court. Let him drive back to Omaha

yeah a guy could do that but it really isnt about the money it is more about a mans word, that is the only reason I wanted to post this about him. He used this forum to sell his truck and then blatently disrespects the forum by saying "who cares if his name is mud". I felt that posting this would get the word out to other snowesters and if it helps them protect themselves in a deal with him than it was worth it.
