Burandt Boards

Looking through the old threads, if I ordered a set of Burandt Boards, it would come as a entire assembly. Now it looks like you just get the insert ? Is that correct?

So to get that entire board assembly, would I have to order 14-15 boards? Are they the same as the Burandt Boards of old? I have a 12 and want to update the entire thing.

On the 12 you will need to do some trimming of the tunnel using the template included in the kit. Other than that you should be good.

you will have to be sure and order a set for the 11 -12 models. looks like the ones on the Polaris web site has just the kind for the newer sleds post 13 models. I got my last pair from freeagent on the form:face-icon-small-hap

OA.... It is the entire board with front and rear castings bonded in place...Rivets, cut template and bolts are all included.

Though the Polaris photo shows just the black part, central of the board, you get all in the photo below (court. Criticalsledder.com)

It's been a while.

I have done three of these but it's been a while. I used the new boards as a template. Didn't care for the paper one. I drilled my holes from the top using a battery drill and held a thin piece of sheet metal between the plastic drill chuck and the tunnel so I wouldn't scratch the side of the tunnel. If you can get the correct diameter you can also use a pilot or aviation bit which is generally 16" to 18" long. I went out and bought steel rivets with the bigger head and put them at every cross member rung as appose to every other one. I had Polaris boards so the rivet color did not matter. If you don't have a pneumatic rivet gun, get one. :face-icon-small-ton
Take your time and use your head. Once you start cutting there is no turning back!

Is there anyway to get the rear bonded part only??? Im having no luck finding it?Dealer tells me im stuck ordering whole new board but really i only need the back peice?:face-icon-small-con

Nope.. the rear part is not avail separately.

OA... I agree with 8250... more rivets cant hurt... and the long 3/16" bit is great when you are installing them on a sled that did not have the new boards previously.

Looked at some of the cool guys' new custom builds at haydays. seemed like the new adjustable height boards are all the rage. you should just get them and maybe you could be in movies too.:face-icon-small-win

You could call AMP and see if they plan on machining a billet version like they do for the Cats. I bet quite a few would switch if they did.

I found somebody that was selling there stock 14 boards and they fit great on my 12. Just be careful cutting cause there's no going back. I just cut half off and then started doing the final cut after that.

I am already in movies, they just aren't suitable for your young eyes.....:face-icon-small-sho

A legendary sprint car hot shoe told me I should run those fancy boards. I will tell you the same thing, I told him. Those hot rod boards are way beyond my riding ability. The Burandt's will be just fine getting me from snack stop to snack stop.

The most difficult thing I want to operate on the mountain is a sammich!!!!!

Funny. :face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-hap

These Burandt boards are very good, and act as tunnel stiffner too. Only one weak point - cast aluminum part on footwell side. It breaks on side impact, and I wish it to be stronger.

I have three sets of the forward castings available as I do not use the stock front casting on my IQR's.

Although, I think most are breaking the rear casting, someone should put a bug in AMP's ear about CNC'ing replacements in billet. That way everything would anodize to the same color.

Thanks for offer, i really appreciate it, but i dealt with it already. I purchased my 12 pro with broken right front casting (where were my eyes at this time?), and fixed it with 1/8" steel L-shaped bracket. Then thought a bit, and reinforced left front side too. Now sled is 150 grams heavier, but more reliable :)
Actually I might not right about wishing cast parts be stronger. This might be engineered fuse for not damaging the tunnel or bulkhead

fitment

MH,

Are you saying they will fit the 11"s and 12"s?. The web site says they will not, and it also says they will not fit any assault. I was intending on buying a set from my dealer, and was not aware of thie issues until I read this thread.
Thanks.

Maybe there's someone that can convince the bean counters at Polaris to throw out the castings and replace them with forged parts.

Burandt Boards fit all 2011-2015 Pro chassis 155" and 163". You can put them on a SBA, but they are narrower. So, you'll leave about an inch of old running board up front (custom cutting). Better to get Airframes or B&Ms for the SBA.

is there any difference between the burandt boards and the 13-14 pro factory boards other than colors?
are all the dimensions the same?

Mounting wise they are interchangeable (rivets holes line up). Dimensions of the cross bars are wider (1/4"-3/8" from memory) on the Burandt boards / smaller holes for snow to fall thru.
