Buff Pass Parking.PLEASE READ.

There's no reason for the problems at VP. Have you seen that lot in the summer? It's huge. They are always behind the 8 ball when it comes to plowing. Then they have the nerve to ask local clubs for more money. This is one of the few places that demands a use fee every time you ride and they want more? It's the FS. They could make it better. More people need to come down on this gov. entity. The way they operate sucks. Plain and simple.

Maybe join a club that will try to do something about the parking. I need to do that myself, no reason not to support them and it will be the only way our voice is heard. Coming on the forums to complain (on multiple threads) is a butt hurt move. Get off you *** and actually do something. Dick.

Rabbit ears pass parking proposal was approved by the FS. Anyone have any idea on what the next steps are?

This raises a good point. If you have a problem or suggestion regarding RE or buff pass then you should join the CSA and Routt Powder Riders. In fact if you ride up there at all you should join. At the very least so you are contributing to trail marking and grooming.
Everyone wants to cry about parking and area closures. CSA is $22 per year and Routt Powder Riders is an additional $15. This is less than one tank of gas!! Imagine if everyone who rides there contributed!

How about if the idiots just don't park like idiots and be considerate of other people for once? :brick:

Gonna have to go with Tom on this one... seems like this is generally the basic problem.

I'll admit though, when you show up at 7:30, it's tough to know for sure what "pattern" is going to be helpful in some lots. Jones is like this all year, if two people park across the lot with decent sized trailers... the lot is F***ED. Literally 1/4 the parking there could be.

This could at least be a short term answer.

Have club get together with FS to draw up a parking plan. Big trailers go here, sled decks go there, etc.

Maybe put up signs, and or a parking map or drawing of lot and how to park.

That is exactly what is in the USFS plan for lot development across RE. On Muddy the overnight campers will park in one lot and day use in the other part of larger muddy lots. that way they can plow the day use parts of the lots.

Dumont has larger pull through spots for bigger trucks and trailers and smaller spots for sled decks and two place set ups
