British Columbia

This may come off as biased but my hometown of Kamloops is pretty much a great hub to start your adventure.
Golden is 4hrs away,
Revelstoke is 2.5hrs,
Sicamous is 1.5hrs,
Salmon Arm is 1hr,
Crowfoot/Grizzly is 40mins,
Coquihalla is 1hr,
Clearwater is 1hr,
Valemount is 3.5hrs,
Pemberton is 4hrs.

That's 9 places with multiple mountains and ranges to explore in each locale. I guess what I'm saying, is that you can't go wrong when you're faced with the best sledding in the World.:face-icon-small-hap

kamloops is definately an awesome hub, i live just north of town and ride pretty much all of those places at least once every year, some of them multiple times. You left out the major player of Blue River, revy sized snow and hills minus the crowds for the most part and its just over 2hrs away, love that place.

Great thing is if you dont mind a long day you can pretty much day trip most of them, ive day tripped as far as valemount north and revy east

True story, I did. The problem with mentioning Blue River is that too many people may start asking around and ruin my honey spot ;)

I was quite spoiled growing up in Kamloops and considering each of these places 'my backyard'

Kootenays

Like everyone said you can't go wrong with any one of the places mentioned especially Sicamous/Revy. But if you're planning on spending a little bit of time in BC the Kootenays are definitely worth checking out.
Growing up in the Kootenays being able to ride from your home to places like Norns Mountain and Ladybird was pretty wild.

IT'S BC .Pretty hard to pinpoint one area.Fernie/Elkford can be epic as well ,castlegar nelson has some wicked riding too.I live in Kelowna and can day trip most popular areas sikmoose,hunters,eagles,revy....But I have not done yet the stewart area which is on my bucket list or blue river.....Yeah I dont think i'm moving from this province any time soon.

i second or third the eagle valley lodge out of sicamuss( sorry for spelling)

rene has a cool place right outside of town with a nice lodge and pleanty of parking right off the highway, the trailheads are only 10 minutes away from the lodge, great place and a great guide!

Rene is not a guide nor does he have a tenure. He is a "photographer or a equipment manager". Which means he proabley doesn't have the proper insurance in place to guide people out in the back country something to think about.

stewart lodge was bought by a heli ski group but dont know if it ever got going.last year was the first low snow year in awhile year befor set records crazy deep snowfalls the mine area averages close to 60ft a year:face-icon-small-sho.nobody doing snowmo rides there now all self guided & very uncrowded.:face-icon-small-coo

I made an awesome trip to Revelstoke a few years back. Stayed 5 nights at the Glacier House Resort in a 3 bedroom cabin. The cabin had all amenities you would ever need including a full kitchen. You never have to jump in your truck for anything. Sledding right from your front door to 3 popular areas. They have great sleds to rent too. Probably the most memorable sledding trip to date for me.

Been in the okanagan for 15 years sledding. Put 3500 km on last year and we were choking on powder almost all year here. I know whistler was as well. Lots of good info here for a guy coming up to BC. All good places to ride. I grew up, up north. Terrace and Smithers area and rode up there in younger years. I know there's lots of great places up there as well but it's pretty remote stuff. South Douglas back of the seven sisters, sterling. But there pretty small areas compared to eagles, boulder, golden, some of the best extreme riding ive seen is out of golden. The elevation there is around the 10000 foot mark in some spots. I'll throw my vote in there and say for a all around good time hEad to sicamous and ride eagles. Call Rene. I have never rode with him but have heard of him and he knows eagles and other places around sicamous really well. Blue lake. Owls. Eagles. The TSS guys are out of salmon arm as well. I am not sure if they guide but if they do it'll be hard to go wrong with them as well. You'll have to use one of those guys to take you out especially eagles. It's pretty big. And if there's other riders up there those guys know the little secret areas to find you fresh tracks.

We went to Stewart a few years ago. this Time of year the locals laughed at us when we were gassing up. They said they go sledding in may and June. We couldn't make it to the glacier and tried 3 days in a row. Mostly we were side tracked with the unbelievable deep snow on the road up to the mine and glacier. My brand new 08 summit 154 at the time seemed like an old 121 in that snow up there. I got stuck going down hill. It snowed most of the time and was hard to see anything. We just drove past hyder Alaska till our truck got stuck then unloaded the sleds there. Only a few miles from Stewart really.
