Brake problem on 2016 Axys models

They owe me for a lost weekend of riding. I am 63 so every lost opportunity has a greater impact than if you are 30. My dealer (they are awesome) offered me a demo sled which was very nice of them. I declined because I wanted to ride my own sled to get it broken in.

Polaris won't do anything for you. I spend hundreds of thousands $$ with polaris each year and 50% of the parts I order are back ordered and I end up with weeks of lost revenue = $1000's and what do I get? An occasional denied warranty. It's true.

On Tuesday I had a 2016 rmk 600 with less than 300 mile seize up. That sled was booked for a week straight. Won't have it back up for about 2 weeks. More lost revenue. My dealer is awesome as well, but Polaris will simply do as little as possible.

Visi-- Polaris tracks ratchet after they stretch during braking. Especially in our heavy Tahoe snow.

Polaris track tension is significantly tighter than you are used to with Ski Doo.

Adjust it to spec, trust me it will be waaaay tighter than you are used to, but it will work the better than loose.r

10 lb weight 16" forward of axle- 3/8- 1/2" inch of sag. Basically one finger on edge between hifax and track.

Thank you, Ive never heard of that. Going to check again. Sure seems tight.

Murph is correct, the track tension spec on Polaris has been significantly tighter than other manufacturers since they first started running rubber tracks in the late 70's / early 80's!!! Same methodology for checking it as well.:face-icon-small-coo

Tight, like Polaris specifies, also put the power to the snow better.

Misconception that loose tracks free up HP.

... But I digress.

935... hows the work going? Is it fixed?

.

It is repaired. It required a new brake assembly which is attached to the large cast piece that is part of it. Pretty big job. Track, driveshaft, jackshaft, etc. removal necessary.

Thanks for the track advice. Adjusted and spent the day on the snow. No problems. Just like it should be.

This is what mine sounds like. Feel like the track is tight...within specs.

This is with gopro mounted while riding. Only happens when the track is under load.

End of my last ride a sound creeped up that sounded a whole lot like the brake was being applied. Anyway to check if my sled's VIN is in the recall lot?

I would take it in and have it checked. I have heard of some guys having problems and causing damage to the sled. I suspect that this could even be a fire hazard if it is severe enough. A bonfire that you don't want to have is enough reason to get it in to a good dealer for an inspection.

My dealer didn't see/hear of any service bulletin. I'm roasting belts fairly quickly. I don't notice anything going on specific to the brake but would love it if someone could post the actual service bulletin here.

Bumping this in case anyone can post any additional information. Again, my dealer was unaware of any service bulletins... Be a huge help if someone could post the bulletin if there actually is one.
