Boss Noss

Ice Age is making a mount to the frame of the kit that puts the bottle in line with the exhaust. We are hoping that the exhaust heat bleed will help keep the bottle warmer than the ambient temp outside. I also have an idea for a bag system around the bottle and exhaust.... it's all up for debate and development right now.

thats pretty much what i got going on.

sleds dont need bottle heat because under the hood is warm. just the same why they dont need carb heat. stuff a bottle in a snowbank is another story.

either that or set your spray up for ~40 on a warm bottle and end up with alot less when its cold.

I ran a Holman kit a few years back and there pressure manifold worked
Iike there altitude compensator when the tank pressure changed so did the fuel pressure, verry safe!

Grrrrrr........ For the first time in my life I feel left out due to my first snow bike and lack of nitrous. Making me want to get a setup now.. I'm in deep already on this project. And if I go to spraying drugs, I will have a 10 pound tank so I don't run out. Lol

Maybe just wear it like a scuba tank :)

When I have spray, and run out I just want to go home. I love it that much. Just to feel the pull, from dead motor bog to full power is just great. I love taking it to the edge. I'm building a 570 motor and adding mxc 5th and 6th. So I think a 25-30hp would get it. But then I'd be at the 90/100hp when on the button. Mmmmmmmm

All you that are running nos or planing to do it this season, what kit are you running / planing to run?

It seams as Boss is still not back in the game.

Back when i was hooked up on the gas and was way beyond recreational use ;-) last time i used BD (on a sled) but now in not sure what to use on the bike.

Am open for all suggestions that can point me in the direction towards a functional system for a 4stroke 450cc EFI bike!

Common all you gasaddicts, it helps taking about you addiction :-D

If I had a efi bike it would be (BD kit) hands down. Just can't beat it. Simple to tune, safest kit I run. Over 100lbs of spray motor within 2lbs of compression before the spray. Zero leak down. I lost three other motors with less spray on other kits. Last motor stock was 42hp after the build was 68.7hp at the crank and sprayed 28hp to it. It was the best build and I was greedy on timing, and ran a hot plug with 110. It lasted about 35hrs of mud racing. After 20sec of spray the plugs were melted down. That was on a Zex setup. But I was being greedy too. Lol

I would spray 10/15hp shot on a stock bike but if timing was done and could load it enough to stay off the rev limit, would go 20hp with a temp gauge to avoid a melt down in the middle of nowhere. My .02 cents but I would push it to the limit at some point in time, like after the first hill I couldn't make over the top from lack of power. Lol

Nick over at Ice Age has me into their custom NOS setup. Mostly it's built from Nitrous Express parts but the kicker is the wet shot system provided by the Dobeck Gen4+ controller. Basically instead of having a wet shot fuel cell we are going to use the controller to detect the shot (by leaning out the AFR during the shot) and have it compensate fuel using the stock injector. Nick already did the math and there will be no issues with injector duty supplying enough fuel to bring AFR's back into 12.5 territory during the shot (especially at altitude). They ran this setup last spring and it worked really well.

I'll be doing a leak down before/after the season on NOS. We are doing a +20 shot. One thing to keep in mind regarding temp issues is the duration of the shot on bikes vs sleds. The average shot will probably be between 2-4 seconds, enough to bring a bogged motor to near-peak RPM and then allow the motor to hold itself there un-assisted. The bike motors are real good at holding RPM once you assist it through loaded situations. There won't be (at least for me) button holding for entire climbs.

Ice Age has a custom billet mount that is almost done and I'll be getting the install complete hopefully in the next few weeks. I'll post some pictures of how it looks.

I have a bd nitrous kit that was on a cr I had I kept the kit when I sold the bike but im not real sure how to tell how much hp of a shot it is set up for was thinking about mounting it on my ox 450

Can some of you guys running the BOSS NOSS setup give us a report on how well its working? I would like to know the bike you running, where exactly you installed the injector, what HP shot you're using, how long the bottle is lasting and how you're using the button.

boss noss is a nice kit when it worked. customer service sucks! i ran 60hp on a 04 rmk800 and it put my buddies 925 psi to shame. does anybody have any advise on running a solenoid type wet kit. need to know a little more on running nitrous jets and fuel jet combos, cause what was nice the boss pretty much figured it out for me, add fuel and laugh your gas off at your friends trying to get through your trench, those tracks won't quit spinning! i to want to part a kit together for my cr500, like everyone said sometimes all you need is a bump and it will get the track speed back up.

I would give gss porting a call I know they have put together kits for the dunes so they might already have a set up for the cr500
