Is there any difference from earlier Matryx models? I’m seeing the running boards are different, is it just the back section or is the whole board different?
I need to replace boards and a tunnel. Is it worth putting the ‘25 on? Will the 2025 boards fit on previous matryx tunnels? Anyone in the know or have opinions?

I'll let others answer more of your questions, but not sure that I'd put a 25 running boards on, it has less support in the rear of the running boards

I read this after I posted. Interesting. I guess I will stay tuned for info.

I have both a 22 and a 25. The running boards and tunnel are completely different. Not as simple as swapping for the 25s. On the 25 besides a stronger bracket for the rear skid mount and different mounting the running boards are designed to breakaway and save the tunnel from damage. The whole running board and tunnel is redesigned.

I guess it would make sense to just get a pre 25 tunnels and boards then. I was thinking if I’m spending the $ maybe I get the latest.

Well if you are doing both it might work. Not sure if anything in the front of the tunnel is different. The rear is for sure.

Looking at the parts on the web, they have the same part number. Running boards are different.

Interesting they have the same part numbers. They are definitely different. For example the front swing arm mounting hole(s). The is only 1 on the 25. 24 and prior the brackets are pre marked for the lower mount and its a different backer braket. I know becuase i installed the ice age kit to add the lower hile.since Im running elevates. Also, I have to go back and look, but I'm 99% sure the way the running boards mount is completely different. On the previous years there are little tabs off the tunnel running the length of the running board for mounting the running board cross pieces. On the 25s it's a solid angled metal piece riveted to both the tunnel and the running board allowing the boards to break away without bending the tunnel. And many other small details...

Im wondering if Polaris hasn’t updated part numbers on their website. I went back and looked and they are the same part numbers for both the tunnel and running boards. 165 Khaos 850 is what I was comparing. In pictures they sure do look different like you are explaining.

I looked at the parts list and diagram for ‘25 9r-165 khaos. The changes are shown there. Interesting….maybe the 850s don’t get the new stuff.

Yea its confusing and I found out the hard way by buying the wrong rear bumper for my 2025 Kaos 850 NA.

Only the 9R and the Boost got the re-designed running's boards in 2025.
