Boss industries closed?

you obviously arent from the midwest. there is money to be had here, heck i feel that our economy isnt up to its potential because we lack quality workers right now. and yes i would rather go to work and earn my money than steal it from other hard working taxpayers.

yeah we lack quality workers, but who is going to give quality work for minimum wage? From what I can tell even with a 4 year degree it can still be difficult to get a decent job.

I am ashamed that a South Dakotan made that statement.

If you half azz it because you are only getting minimum wage, how do you expect a better opportunity to come you way?

You have the "Give me a raise & I'll work harder" attitude.
I have much more respect for the "I'll work harder so I may get a raise" attitude.

No matter what jod you have, do it to the best of your ability.
I have seen many uneducated people surpass their educated peers with that philosophy.

Uh.... Back to the matter at hand, IS BOSS IN BUSINESS? Anyone have any more info?:juggle:

Well... I've got nothing useful to add to answer your question, but let me tell you how good I am, and how anyone without a job must be a slacker POS.

Btw, I run a 200 person company that went to about 15 the last year or so.

We've got some VERY good, hard working people who don't have a job.

Not everyone wants or is willing to move to N dakota because of money.

Bottom line, Boss seats over the last few years are garbage. I cannot comment on their nitrous systems. But their main money maker which is the seat end of their business went down hill. I wasted $500 CAN on a seat from them 2 years ago and all the zippers broke off a few weeks after owning it, the fabric is all frayed and looks like shiiiit.

If they are out of business it is probably due to the garbage they try selling at top $$. Word travels quick when youre product stinks.

id rather live at wally world parking lot than be a flatlander:)

If the handouts stop, WHICH THEY SHOULD, you have no choice but to go where the work is located!! That's the way it should be! You don't have to pick up your family up and move, you just go to where the work is until something opens up back home.

Obviously us flatlanders have something figured out here considering we aren't hurting near as bad as the rest of the country.

No, open any SD newspaper & go to the help wanted ads & you can be working before the end of the day & we are nowhere near the oil patch.

Wouldnt that be the ripple effect of having a major industry (oil) doing well?

Either way it is nice to see, instead of the doom and gloom.

and most of those are part time 8 bucks an hour?

I think you should open mouth and insert foot, unless you have any idea what your talking about. We live about 2.5 hours away from the oil patch and we have plenty of jobs that starting wage is 12 bucks an hr. A lot of people from out of state just think that everybody around here works at the oil patch and makes millions, well not every one works there. And what's so bad about being a flat lander? Does that make us not as good of people because we don't live in the mountains? Some of you make me laugh, I'm better then you cause I only live 20 min from the mountains. All I know is I love the sport no matter where I happen to live.

I think we are in or darn close to a second recession

You mean the first one ended??

F_ck til Friday!
I get so damned tired of hearing about the economy being in the pisser.
Here's a thought - Instead of sitting on their azz collecting welfare, unemployment, WIC, food stamps & what not, why not pick up a paper & look in the help wanted ads?
If you can't find a job in the midwest, you do not want to work.

So not true. Some people have families and they don't want to move away from them. When I was laid off I looked and looked and looked all over the place for work. There wasn't any. Finally after 1 1/2 years I found a place to work in SLC and spent the worst 3 months of my life there working and looking for a home for my family, only to be laid off again. Thank God I didn't sell my house here in Colorado. I now have a great job and am happy, kinda. But I can tell you first hand most family men would rather stay home and look for good work and raise their kids. IMO, a man should never never never leave his family to work in another state. I did it and I will never do it again. I do agree that there is work in ND, but that it itself is a huge sacrifice. You have to go to NoDak! *eek* also some of the workers there are questionable. Even if you have a record you can get a job there, they don't care what kind of man you are, just that you have two strong hands and will work. How is the crime rate up there now? Bet it's higher. My good friend just left Colorado to move back closer to his parents and he said it's hectic. He had a hell of a time finding a house decent enough to put his family in and now it's costing him a freaking fortune to rent the place.

Damn straight. I really wish people would quit looking at the little picture and open up a tad. We all know I was on UEI for a while and I'm not ashamed one damn bit. I have been working since I was 16, so yeah 18 months of Unemployment Income was deserved. I DID NOT apply for Wic, welfare or food stamps. I survived and took care of my kids with that WHOPPING 475/week that Colorado gives you. I went on plenty of interviews and drove to plenty of places looking for work. My mother babysat while I went. Good things came out of that. I learned to shop and get good tasty food to feed my kids. I can still get 2 weeks of food, for my family of four for the most 275. Things are finally starting to look better.
