Boss industries closed?

A lot of domestic suppliers of raw material are coming close to overseas pricing now which is a good change. Im assuming Boss went overseas to get the contract with Arctic Cat on the HCR's becuase they probably couldnt produce them for the price AC wanted them for.

Unfortunately it backfired for them, but they should keep their own country eating.... I refuse to buy ANY product overseas and TRY to buy local if possible.

Im glad to hear their still in business and back to what made them who they are.:usa2:

I know its splitting hairs but it was the snowchecks that had the boss seat. not necessarily the HCR. And I have a feeling that Boss couldn't supply the amount of seats needed... Less to do with the price.
 
I used to easily sell 200 Boss seats a year. Last year they did bring production in house but had a hard time getting production going. What First Place Parts posted is true.

I have seats orders right now so I hope the people involved get their business right so we can get these orders filled and seats shipped.

BOSS has chosen to have a single distributor facilitate the sales and distribution of the snowmobile seats to our dealers. This change will allow us to focus on the steady, year-round manufacturing of seats and maintain the highest quality in our products. This will also improve the availability of seats, and allow us to add more seat styles to the line-up, along with innovative new designs. Last year, we brought the sewing production home to the USA and have since produced the entire seats here in our factory. Because of the difficulty of setting this production up and training of employees, etc. we were late with many of the shipments last season. We want to assure you, however, that our production is up and running efficiently now; and that BOSS Seats are better than ever! First Place Parts, LLC, located in Aberdeen, South Dakota will be the distributor for BOSS seats. Their location is central to the U.S. and Canada. All dealers ordering seats must place their order directly with First Place Parts. We are confident that First Place Parts will provide you with excellent customer service. Be assured that the prices, both Retail and Dealer, are set directly by BOSS Industries, Inc. First Place Parts has no control over the pricing and is bound by agreement to sell BOSS products at the prices set by BOSS Industries, Inc. They will be your source of contact for any information regarding BOSS seats. They will stock and ship the BOSS seats directly from their warehouse. They will be contacting you shortly with more details on the ordering process. I have attached a new Dealer Price List for the seats, a seat part # reference chart, and a new Dealer Application. Because it contains new policies, this new Dealer Application is required to be completed and approved before you will be able to place any further orders.

I got the email as well but was trying to give the distributor time to respond before posting. I have not heard boo from them. I really need to know what the lead times are and when we can expect seats. Or is this just going to be a monopoly. I hope not because we all offer other options and can start pointing customers down those paths.
 
Well...Im glad to see Boss is still in business!

I have purchased 2 seats (shame on me) the first one the zipper covers cracked, zipper handle broke, fabric on rear of seat frayed. Now this is in say 3/4 rides!!

The second one is alleged to US made? still new in the bag. Looks to be identical to the overseas model! Serial # on seat is very close to the first? I really hope # 2 is better? but..... I doubt it!

Warranty...good luck

Now if the seat was priced to fall apart, i,d have no problem, but for close to $500 you,d expect it to last! (a while)!

Next seat will be a Shorty Cat M series cut to fit my Mtn Cat.....MY02
