Bogging problem

My buddy is having problems with his 09 dragon. He blew the engine last year and had it redone and put 400 miles on it with no problems. This year he had the top end updates done but didnt ride it because lack of snow. Now today he picked it up from getting the new flash and when he took it for a ride it bogs. He said he can get it to 8100 rpm then it drops to 7000 rpm. he is not sure where to start looking for the problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

buddy of mine had one of those that was doing the same and it turned out to be a plug that you disconnect if you are running non-ethynol fuels....maybe start with that.

you also need to get thru the over oiled for breakin tank of gas if the dealer just rebuilt it. Once you have fresh fuel only then evaluate.

I am not so sure, this is exactly the problem that i am having. What elevation does he ride at?????

Sounds very similar to my problem too...08 D8, ran great last 2 years, got the update done before this season started, only rode at about 6000 ft, my memory thing shows a max rpm of 8100 ish, sputters down to around the 7200-7500 anywhere in there. Would be nice to get this one figured out!!

Have you checked your TPS settings? .... this has been one of the problems that have plagued the 900 owners.

what can are you guys using. I have a MBRP and on the flash thread one fellow said he went to SLP and fixed the problem.

i would look at your primary clutch. there has been problems with springs and also bearings on the cover. check that
