Bog above 3/4 throttle.

Hey, I would actually be willing to do that. It will come with a bill for whatever parts it needs though.

Sooooooo no more ideas? I guess im gonna have to take it to the shop then. :(
Im really clueless about this....

I think I would personally just start replacing all the parts that are known to fail on the 900's starting with the tps wire harness.

you might try running the sled up to where it bogs and holding it at that speed were it is bogging for 20 seconds and hitting the kill switch. Then pull the plugs and compare them. If one is not firing right I would expect it to be wetter than the other.

COIL

You can try a inline spark tester some times you can find it that way also spray water on the coils some times they short to the out side of the bracket

So could a bad coil cause the high idle? Its idling at about 2600rpm.....

I can't see that happening. When did the idle start being so high?
High / unstable idle and backfiring screams air leak to me.
I remember a time when my throttle bodies had popped out of the intake boots (big air leak) and it was doing the same.... idling at 2500-3000, and backfiring

It started being high well after the bogging started.. But it seemed to get worse after i adjusted the tps.. The tps is dead on... I suppose it could be the harness. But im not really sure.

I checked my intake boots and theyre fine. It screams air leak to me too. But i simply cant find one.
Im really lost here and running out of time for riding this season.

Whats your methods you have used to check for air leaks so far?

I usually leak down test any of my 2smokers after a rebuild or assembly, it's in my opinion, the best way to really know your engine is sealed. Most leaks are found very quickly this way.
Of course this only covers the parts up to the plugs you use (a plug in the exhaust manifold, and a slug clamped in the intake boot is typical). This doesn't cover your boost box, the boost box's seal on to the throttle bodies, and the throttle bodies seal into the intake boots which also all need to be properly sealed.

Unless you set the tps incorrectly somehow, I still think this sounds like an air leak. but even if the tps was done wrong, and the throttle plates were open too far at idle... I would expect the problem to be consistent.
That said, with these 900's I have found that until you have a perfectly operating and set tps with good idle behavior... all sorts of other problems can plague you (your 3/4 throttle bog that was the original topic).

If it were mine, I would start by re-setting the tps making triple sure its right, and doing a leak down test... and go from there.

I honestly dont have as much experience doing this stuff as most of you all here on the forums. This season ive learned alot!
i havent done a leak down test.... Ive really only done a visual... Since, like i said, i dont have much experience doing this.
So what SHOULD i be doing?
Re setting the tps and then doing a leak down test like you said?

That is what I would do at this point, others may suggest different things to try.
Do you have access to leakdown testing equipment? or a buddy that can help? If not start with the tps / idle and after, you can spray test for leaks instead.

A visual might not be enough to show the small cracks that can appear on the bottom side of the boots...

Check your Harness

Let me tell you something. I have a 2006 Polaris 700 (755) Rmk, 159 length track. I was experiencing bog down when i applied throttle. I suggest to those who are experiencing problems with thier sleds, to look at thier TPS and TPS harness that connects to the throttle bodies. I recently had my TPS adjusted however two hours into my ride i experienced a bog down when i applied the throttle. The sled was running crappy as i believe the sled was dumping large amounts of fuel into the cyliders to protect the engine when there is a problem. I took the sled into the dealer and they found out that the harness that connect to the throttle body was bad. I suggest those of whom are having problems to check out this problem either by themselves or by the dealer. Since i have had this TPS harness replaced, the sled had been running great.
