Blue Mountains 2016-17

Ride Report 2/11/17

Rode out of Rose, another grandkid ride.:face-icon-small-hap Road to and the parking lot were in good shape.

Road was groomed and we only rode as far as the Misery Cabin. By the time you get to Clearwater LO the snow is not too bad! The snow is not rock hard and you can actually play off trail but most areas are pretty tracked up

Be cautious as there were cross country skiers in the area, be nice and slow down when you go by them as we don't need negative complaints sent to the FS...

Reading the news this morning it looks like they are looking for a lost snowboarder at Bluewood today. Sounds like he may have gone off the backside into the Wilderness. He was reported missing at 6:42 last night.

Yesterday we made the best of it in a little different area that was nice after warm weather.

The lost snowboarder was found today. He spent the night in his own made shelter. He was found walking down the 500 road. Safe and sound returned to the ski patrol and he boarded down the ski hill to the bottom. Thanks BMSC!!

Rode out of Cloverland Saturday 2/11 with my Boss, and few members of his family today, my pro was running Hot with the scratchers down in to the guard station, couple other sleds were running warmer than normal but mine was definetly the hottest, not far after the guard station it cooled down course snow was softer and looser Ran good rest of the day started getting pretty warm from guard station back to the truck again.
First ride in the Blues in Years and was nice blue sky day definetly gotta get used to the pro, easier to maneuver than my 04 Rev and both have the narrow frontends.

Great Day, Wildcard

We rode in from the Anatone side. We all were running on the warm side, not much soft stuff. It did get better further over. A few areas in the trees to play in. The frozen crusty snow makes it a little interesting to ride in. Once you and the PRO bond you will love it. Counter steer and throttle!:face-icon-small-coo

Ya we dropped in the backside of misery parking lot and should of went more to the LH side rather than a bit to the RH side got very off camber fast down to the treeline, did throw sled into full countersteer burp throttle and on edge it went, just took a few tries to get the rhythm of throttle braap braap/ walkin the sled along sidehilling, would only stop when would get out of the clutch engagement, throttle control. sled has a lot more power than my Rev.

Havin my front shock rebuilt now, were way spungy, sucked on offcamber the sled would squish to the lowside , weird feeling even with the 36inch frontend. Also ordered some Ice Storm reversible scratchers. tip of the stock scratchers were broke when we got back, weird like draggin straight rods think that had to do a lot with getting hot, they were not like that when we left the turn around spot

What fun, Wildcard

Ride Report 2/25 and 2/26/17

Two days of events out of Rose Springs.

Saturday was the vintage show and fun... wow there were some really cool sleds there!:face-icon-small-hap Weather was blue sky, parking lot plowed and trails groomed...perfect day.

Sunday SNOW!!! Lots of the powder stuff all day. Mt Misery club's poker run and lunch... if you did not go probably the best snow of the season! Food was great and this event is always fun.:face-icon-small-coo

Dropped into UNTRACKED Troy Road and it was powder over the hood!!! but it was a grand-kid day so I returned with my 10 year old granddaughter passenger to the rest of the group as we had fun blowing powder over the hood...

Plumbing under the house in water was much better then riding both days in over the hood powder. Glad the event was a success. Might have to do a mid week ride.

C.B.8 got to play in the snow

Glad to see that CB 8 got to ride on Saturday in the heavy powder and snow storm Saturday morning. The storm let up and sun came out and the snow started getting really wet then. Had a good time riding untracked areas.

Rob, Bill and myself rode Sunday and he said the snow was a lot better Sunday then Saturday. I didn't take pictures but I think Rob had some.

Had a great day riding both days not a lot of pictures. Riding too hard. Spared Bill any pictures since it was his first ride of the year to log more then 2 miles. Thanks Tony, Bill and Glenn. My favorite picture was Glenn stuck in the middle of the trail going down hill.:face-icon-small-ton

. Picture of an unnamed 850 rider upside down, and someone with a camera to capture the shenanigans last Sunday out of Dayton.
