Welcome to the 2016-17 discussions and bashing of snowmobile efforts :face-icon-small-coo

as a reminder... this is what it is all about

my riding (hunting) partner for the day as we explore the Blue Mountains, parking at Smoothing Iron parking lot (at the cattle barn)... lots of sunshine!

Note SNOW at about 5900 feet... this is about the maximum amount of snow for CB8:eyebrows:

No deer were injured this day

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my preparation for winter.

Firewood got.
Deer tags filled. All 3.
Heater installed in the trailer. (Place to stay warm waiting for the skidoos to get ready, fixed what ever they are claiming that day.)
Phazer make over done. New tunnel extension. Oil changed. Changed spark plugs. Regeared. Rollover valve installed. Re-clutched. Four stroke maintainance sucks!
Still to Doo.
Change diamond drive fluid on the m6 and m8.
Re-gear the m8000 and install revalved shocks.
Go to the gym to prepare for lifting skidoos.

Waiting to spend many days on the mountains with great friends.

I did that on a bike once Mike except I cleared the ditch and landed in the mud. Wheels went down, down, down to the frame and there it stood as I went on over. It gets very mucky when rocking the bike back and forth to get it out. Took posts and such to stand on.

Anyway for our side report headed to Tollgate tomorrow from Bluewood. About 12 inches in our parking lot however a cell tower crew has plowed up the road to the dirt and a couple days ago all the way across the top to the tower at Bluewood. They weren't supposed to do that but it is done and snow plowed over the side so not able to be pulled back on road.

For those riding around Bluewood be aware of marginal conditions because the road was recently plowed so we need more snow to cover about 8 miles of road plowing.

A group of us did make it across the mountain for a bite to eat at Tollgate and also enjoyed a warm-up at the Bone Springs warming shelter.

The Godman warming shelter was also opened up for the season and burgers will begin next Saturday there. Grooming should begin this week but will need more snow for the 700 trail so beware of the water bars.

It was a quiet ride without CB8 along. Sounds like his wife kept him locked up from riding so he didn't have an excuse so early in the season for buying more parts.

New to Tri cities

Hello. I'm looking to find riding buddies in this part of the state. I moved over from the west side and would love to tag along with someone that knows the areas. I'm retired so I can ride anytime.

there are riders out of Dayton (flyingW) that could give you guidance about riding out of Dayton and Tollgate....
If you have a strong back ride with CB8:)

It was too cold to ride today. Or NOT!

Braved the elements today to ride with Alex, Glenn, Tyson and Garrett. The snow was amazing. There was some do not pass go moments. I might have even smacked an A arm into a tree tweaking it slightly. My favorite picture is the one of the Dayton Master pondering all that he has conquered.

I may be around New Year's Eve to ride somewhere and then it is hit and miss as I attend weekend meetings through the winter. One event coming up on Dec. 31 is their Fun Run at Tollgate beginning at their clubhouse where I'm sure they will hook you up with someone for the day. http://tollgatetrailfinders.org/

PM me if you want contact info. I hope you can get out and enjoy the Blues. The Dayton side cooks hamburgers on Saturdays.

Good day around Dayton. Had a good time with CB8, Flying W and the rest. Good snow, just need more of it.

Where do you guys unload at on the Dayton side? I am from Pomeroy and rode the blues growing up and still do when I can get down there. We come down from Spokane and unload at Rose springs when we go.

. Rode out of cloverland Saturday. Once you got up top snow wasn't bad but have to watch out for land minds. Trail is a little ruff from the snopark up for 3 or so miles because the loggers are keeping it plowed out. .

FYI I heard second hand three guys got tagged for no snowmobile license this past weekend, which sucks.:face-icon-small-fro I hate, in my opinion the stupid high fees but sent in my check today...
