Happy New Year report

wet snow down low above 5500 and it is powder. At the marker it showed a 1/2 foot loss of snow (right at three feet now) but the wind was blowing really hard and blew some off... probably received six inches of the new stuff.. today

A little cloudy/foggy... but cleared up nicely at sunset... if you are a trail rider only... the groomed trails are blown in pretty bad at spots... (make for great launch spots for tail walking:D)... hope to see everyone tomorrow...

Ride report 1-2-10

good weather.. GREAT BURGERS from the Mt. Misery Snowmobile club... they are also feeding tomorrow (Sunday) so bring your five bucks for a burger.. at the Mt. Misery Cabin

Direct assaults on the hillclimb with stockers was pretty sad.. you could side hill to the top pretty easily but direct runs and the drifts were pretty hard... Janet got to check her track when her HC went over backwards on her on the B run.. the good news the sled was not hurt!!! :D On the XP short track I got detained a couple of times 1) TREE!!!! 2) STUMP !!!! 3) Possible driver error.. but went over the B run a couple of times but the drifts made it a lot of fun!!!.. A lot of us ran at the A run and as I said 154 and smaller tracked stock sleds were not going over today.. but there is tomorrow!!

Ride report 1-9-10

Trails are groomed in great shape.. Burgers at the Mt. Misery warm shed were great... BURGERS available on Sunday too.

Weather partly cloudy, lot of fog up high.. snow level is down..:( Off road had some challenges (be honest I got stuck more times today than all of last year.. hitting trees, rocks, etc... )

Sunday would be a great day for trail riding.. taking the kids and you know the old ball and chain... and then when the powder returns you won't have to take her... :D BTW rode today with John and Wendy Price.. great riders and a lot of fun to hand with.. plus John is strong as an ox great when you are wrapped around a stump/rock/etc..

Ski-Doo rescue team (John with Janet stumbling through the snow) this stuck was driver's error.. BTW note to self DON'T MAKE a bunch of suspension changes and then go ride, the changes in suspension giometrics were not a good thing...

Snow!!!

Man you can tell the blues suck for snow when nobody posts on this thread.LOL Looks like we are going to be getting snow over the next couple days and maybe even next week!! Keep your fingers crossed, I think we're headed up through cloverland on sunday..We'll see what kind of snow falls over the next couple days. Anybody else going to try and go up this weekend?

ride report 1-23-10

As posted above today was a grandkid ride.. which was a lot of fun... our Morgan rode all day, and when she got home she was excited to tell her mom how fast she was going and "catching air" where her dad used to practice for snocross... yep all of 10 miles an hour but when you are 8 that is a lot... the 30+ year old Yamaha 340 ET ran perfect for her... Janet and I built a fire and watch her go around, around, around, and around the field...

Snowing.. maybe 4 inches new at the snow park, trail are okay, I am hearing above 6000 feet it was much more..

ride report 1-24-10

Well.. we found the elusive white stuff... seems the Dayton side of the Blues (especially the West side) has the snow... CB-8, his brother, Janet and me rode out of the snow park just below the ski resort... place was crowded as it was burger day at the warm up cabin.. oh yea there was SUNSHINE and fresh P O W D E R!!!!!

After some challenges in the parking lot (Janet's starter/reverse switch had a short in it... it would just kick into reverse on its own... personally I did not see a problem but Janet had visions of climbing a big hill and then it would go into reverse.. whatever.. so we disconnected it.. ) We ran into 1-3 feet of powder snow and of course the problems started... here is CB 8 brother.. 1st stuck

As I was saying.. on the West side of the Blues... the snow WAS THAT DEEP

And of course the required Stuck Cat (CB-8) photo

CB-8 thanks for the GREAT TIME TODAY!!

Yes, yesterday was a great day. Great snow, beautiful day, awesome company and a orange kitty cat. Yes, I did get stuck once on the hill. What Mr. Nuts did not mention was that with one small suspension change the next run I went over the top. I waited and waited for a doo or a polaris to follow but I was alone atop the hill by myself. After the cat punched over many times Mr. Nuts poached his way all the way to the top. He also apparently forgot how to ride on flat ground as you will see. I did get him in action on the bunny hill.

Great to see the Warren brothers.

well, with a critical eye I see NO conclusive evidence the said snowmobile shown in picture 3 is a Ski-Doo. I think the jury can see a black snowmobile with a yellow belly plate laying next to the tree, could be a Cat... hmmm.. Now CLEARLY in picture 2 this is ROTAX POWER climbing where others fear to go...
