Blue Mountain Snow conditions

I think this Saturday (2/8) is the Pomeroy bucket run... leave out of Rose Spring... usually a lot of fun, great food and prizes

Hello Plumnuts, Is this an event or part of the snowmobile club (snowdrifters)? or just what a group puts on?

Is the Snowmobile club still pretty active around the Valley and where are the meetings If your still havin them?

Never been on a run, buy have been up there with friends while hotdogs, chille etc was bein served at the warmup shack good food and fun.

Years ago friends use to compete in the races or slalom type down and back competition around the warmup shack area, sled races but again that was years ago, have been riding mostly Elk River, Boville area last few years, did make it to the Blues once last year 1st time in 2yrs really like it there.

Thanks, Wildcard

Trying to confirm the event... it is a non-race... start at Rose Spring snow park (I think 9 am), pay a fee for lunch and a chance at prizes, then there will be several stops along the way to draw cards... it is all fun... great food and friends

Tony I'm headed to Pomeroy tomorrow meeting a couple others at our shop at 8 after I get the cows fed then heading on up. I'll have oil in my trailer if you go to Pomeroy. Should be a motorhome up there tonight that has a couple sleds I'll be riding with too.

Think I will stay home today and ride with the kids here. Feeling a little beat.

Two Thumbs up to the Mount Misery Snodrifters. The Bucket Run was awesome. Great friends, food, snow and prizes. And yeah Plum and Mrs. Plum even made an appearance.

Also have to say thanks to the Mt. Misery Club for a great Bucket Run and food and prizes and fresh snow. It was great to see the CB.8 family out enjoying the snow.

When we were leaving Kelly Camp and passed you on the way out Rob knowing you were busy trying to keep up with your daughters we found a plum tree with a plum still hanging in it so we thought we should remove it for the winter. I guess with no pictures it didn't really happen though.:face-icon-small-win

Had a great time in Pomeroy.

no video or pictures of my climbing of a tree and becoming detained (Doos are never stuck) cannot be proven :bump2:

McCall

If you didn't go to McCall this weekend you missed some epic snow.

The highlights: the Cat track seemed to be working OK. Took me some place I probably shouldn't have been.

The low lights: about an hour in the Turbo(my brothers) sucked a reed or something. It began to run like crap! The 1988 Indy 500 would of highmarked it.

Had to call it a day early.

Some would say we had a trenching problem?? :photo:
You decide.

Here are some pics to prove how good things were.

Not Blue Mountains... travelled off to Priest Lake... and yea got into the deep powder with all of us (including the snow bike) getting detained... special tanks to our good friends Gary and Peggy Smith for a GREAT weekend:face-icon-small-coo

Janet asked one of our granddaughters permission to race her very pristine 1980 Ski Doo Citation 4500E (yea electric start)... some photos (Janet managed to hold off the quicker Doo RV for 4 of the 5 laps and got nipped at the end... the women were the VERY BEST RACES... as they were cut throat, banging sleds... and pushing, trading paint, and shoving in the corners... yea we are looking for a faster vintage race sled than the 28 HP Citation)...

Vintage Show and Ride 2/22/14

Registration 10-11 at Rose Springs Snopark... info call Willie at 509 843 6051 or 509 566 7021

Pomeroy is having their vintage run on Saturday and Dayton is having their bucket run on Saturday starting at 9 am from the Touchet Corral Snopark ending at the Godman warming shelter.

Thanks Glen. Picking up the rest of my parts today so with a little luck and a long night the sled may be back together by Saturday.

With all of the wind and snow... I see last night on the TV that the Blue Mountains were listed as avalanche danger.... ride smart and carry avalanche equipment and know how to use them... and for those of you that say it won't avalanche in the Blues... your cheese has slipped off your cracker... :amen:

Report form the neighbor today was 6.5 feet at the marker and the deepest snow at Pomeroy in at least two years.

For all of you that chose to do the bucket run at Dayton or the Vintage Run at Pomeroy yesterday I bet you had more fun then I did. Lost a sevro motor for the power valves. The good new was my friends at Idaho Rigging in Potlatch had one and made me a deal on it (really) $350. $467 is full retail.

But today was the day for the vintage cat. The snow was deep and the cat was purring. I may have been detained once, but no one was there to witness the act. When I got off my sled I sunk to my shoulders.

Wish you could have been there Plum. Evan says that the 2.6 powerclaw trenches like a mother. I don't care, it just keep going. Awesome upgrade.

Later,
Rob

Crap..

I rode my 1979 Ski Doo Everest (BTW it is for sale $200) in the powder... you know I had forgotten how much fun a sit down sled is to ride in the smooth powder... wow you get covered in the white stuff!:face-icon-small-hap

I had also forgotten that a lightweight sled will float a lot better without a lot of horsepower... sure won't climb a big hill but simple fun all the same.

Granddaughters had fun and Kolbie did her best on her 340 Yamaha on the obstacle course taking 3rd place. BTW the club gave away some great prizes... Mac's Cycle cup full of M and Ms, a baklava, and a cool snowmobile decorative of a snowmobile made out of wire and a spark plug are things we won!

Oh yea of the adults... fastest on the obstacle course, riding a 340 Yamaha was.... oh yea me!:face-icon-small-coo I can barely walk as my knees are so sore... there were a lot of woops on the course... and I remembered how crappy the old sleds were in the rough

Granddaughters and me on our 1980 Ski Doo Citation (also for sale, e-start, oil injection, everything works)
