i am moving up there shortly for business, looking for a placed to stay that is small until i sell my house in Colorado, which neighborhoods should i stay away from? i would like to rent a small house with a garage what good surrounding towns are around. I have been doing some research but i really dont know.

I told you about my bro-in-law, the realtor, but if you're going to rent there are some Property Managment companies around. I'd google that or yellowpages.com. Your best bet, my .02.

that was my plan thanks but the problem is the realtors wont really tell me what the "bad" neighborhoods are, ya know, i am looking for places TO STAY AWAY FROM. i would hate to rent a place in the ghetto etc

This is Montana a few meth houses but not many gangs to speak of.

Stay away from the south side and the North park area. West end or heights or even some of Lockwood aren't bad. Might look at Laurel also just 10 miles from Billings. Shephard and Huntley project area if you are looking to be a little out of town

It's not really "projects", It is a place called Huntley Project. If my memory doesn't let me down (it always does!) it is named after an irrigation project in the days of old.

anyone know about dax rentals?
a guy named dax ferguson is kind of like a rental finder, has a service to find local rentlals etc, wants 175 bucks to give me his "list". sounds like bs to me

I think you could do it yourself. Get on the Billings Gazette web page they have a classified section, Pickup a Thrifty Nickle they have a rental section. When are you coming to town? and how much time will you have befor you actually need a place? The one time I looked at a Dax guide there wasn't to much there.
