Great to hear it is still snowing. Anyone now the total about of snow on the south end? Thanks

Powder River Pass Snotel is saying 38.9 inches of snow. My dad was up there last weekend and said it is way good for this time of year, the best he has seen it in years!

hey guys....couple of buddies and i are heading out to the big horns, wondering if the snow pigs are pretty picky about loud sleds cause 3 of us have cans and we dont want to get tickets....any help?

"Snow pigs"....wow that's respectful. There aren't many Forest Service Rangers around the horns usually, never heard of anyone getting in trouble for a can.

Sorry, but that attitude won't get you anything but trouble if you ever were to get stopped. Doubt anyone will though

Wow... I'm sure it will be a pleasure to have you around causing hate, and discontent.

Wyoming, especially the Bighorns are the final frontier, the last bastion if you will. The law is vauge, and poorly enforced.

That being said; the local's are even more "wild west" than the laws. I'll guarantee if you show up and disrespect other riders, trash areas, or ride or act like azzhat's, the local's and veteran out-of-staters will give ya what's comin' to ya.

I'm guessin' yer "snow pigs" comment was made in jest... I hope.

I see them every once in a while up there but with no speed limit, no helmet law, and no noise limit they are mostly just checking for stickers and patroling wilderness areas.

Going to be warm, hmm... oh well still will be fun! :D Get to try out the my new rkt secondary kit.

I went up yesterday and it was decent, the top rail on the wooden fences are still showing. The snow pack looked normal. Went off a 20-30' cornace, and about a 50' long by 20' wide section broke as I came up to the edge. Every cornace looks like it's ready to go.

With an attitude like you have, maybe you should just stay in the Twin Cities, you belong there.
Bet he does'nt throw the buck in for S&R either.

We ran into a couple US Forestry Rangers last year on the Southern Side. We were coming off an ungroomed forest road onto Trail D, they stopped, took off their helmets, so we did too, they asked where we from, what did we think of the conditions, etc. We could tell they we checking stickers but never got off their sleds or mentioned it. We sat and talked with them for close to 30 minutes, they were really cool guys, wouldn't bother me in the least to run into them again. Two of the five of us have aftermarket pipes and cans, and they didn't say anything about it.

if you have the proper stickers and dont ride in closed areas they will not bother you for anything else---have never had a hard time in the winter in horns, cooke or togwotee--:D

:D

Canadian needs a hand.

Do not want to thread jack here- so if someone could pm me from the Big horns area: How are Canadians welcomed? There are 6 of us thinking about a trip there and would like to know. What stickers/plates are required? Good places to stay? Access to trail heads? Thank you everyone.

anybody see the avy to the northwest of the lodge near the lake creek area. it was somewhat close to trail h. we were on a ridge about a mile and a half away and could see the side of the mountain had slid earlier. im just curious if anyone else had seen that.
