...winter storm warning in effect from noon today to noon mst
wednesday...

The national weather service in billings has issued a winter
storm warning for heavy snow...which is in effect from noon today
to noon mst wednesday.

Snow will begin accumulating this afternoon with accumulations
of 1 to 2 inches expected by late this afternoon. Snow will
become heavy at times tonight with additional snowfall of 6 to 8
inches expected overnight. Snow will continue wednesday before
tapering off during the afternoon with additional accumulations
around 4 inches. Total accumulations will reach 9 to 14 inches
with locally higher amounts by early wednesday evening. Strong
northwest winds through the period will cause areas of blowing and
drifting snow.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will
make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Bottomless doesn't quite explain the snow we found up there yesterday. Step off your sled and you were surely going down. Sure made it a pain for getting unstuck. It isn't tracked up to much I think most people were content with follow the leader because of the snow conditions. Not us! there were 3 of us and once all three of us were stuck at the same time! You don't have to go far off the trail and through a few trees and you will find areas that have not been touched. I am sure we didn't find them all! We were at the Porcupine Falls sign at 2:45 and I made the comment we would be back to the truck in a half hour, we got back at 4:15. I never was to good at direct routes.

Hey guys and gals..
We are getting dumped on again. We are getting snowed on big time again, 12-18 inches last night and it is still snowing......this is looking like it is going to be a fantastic year...

Snow was great this weekend, found acres of fresh and deep.

I'm in the Cody area, and I'm pretty new at this - if any of you more experienced folk want some company on a ride, drop me a line. I'm always looking for a chance to learn and ride with new people. I'm self-employed, so my schedule's flexible - let's ride!

We did take one picture off a cell phone Saturday...the lack of base made for some tough stucks and a tired back Sunday.
