Big Horns....2008/2009

Last years thread was getting way too long. Checked the snowtel on bald mountain today and it's up to 14.5 inches, hopefully keeps it up and we start to get some base built up.

It was still only a couple of inches at Burgess, they must have gotten some rain mixed with it. Only 3 feet to go to start building a base over some of those rocks!

Buffalo Wyoming Trip

My mom and bro live in Buffalo WY. I plan on hitting the big horns soon... I need some good ideas for just powder and some steep areas to hit up.. i WILL BE COMING FROM SOLON SPRINGS WI. When would be the best time to go, and where to.

Buffalo is not quite as deep or steep as the Northern end. My parents live near Hazelton road @ 8200 ft and most of the year they have a hard time riding from there house/cabin. Lots of bare land to cover to get to there vehicle they leave at the main roads.

If you end up riding the south end of the horns your best bet is to ride on the west side of powder river pass (that's where most of the snow falls). Like live2ride said the better terain and better snow is to the north, but there are still some pretty good meadows and bowls on the south end.

Hi all
Just a quick note from SnowShoe lodge....we got about a foot of snow since last night......

Hi all
This is Betty Jo from SnowShoe.....I have been told from the Wyoming Trails that Meadowlark and Deerhaven will be closed this year.....Ranger Creek and SnowShoe will be up and running strong. At this time we are still getting snow....so far it looks real good

They should have been closed down last year.....what a waste of a trip..

Need to hook up with you one time this winter Wyoming T/A. Like to see how the ol 1000 still holds up to the new 800s. See if i need to buy one next year or not.

I've got the sled back finally, may be looking for some local riders to do some break in/testing in next couple weeks. Not looking for anything extreme till I'm warm and fuzzy that motor is right.
