Big bore D8.

I'm sure there will be a few folks chime in that really like their BB 860. I had the chance to demo a Carl's 860 and his Boondocker turbo. I also had my 800 with twin SLP pipes and Carl's head cut. I cant say that I noticed a $4000.00 ish difference between my sled and the 860. The turbo on the other hand...well that was the show stopper. That being said, there are always variables with sleds and sledding, and as I said before, therr will be ones that run better than others. This is just my personal HANDS ON SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON. If you want a SWEET running sled to ride that totally rips, get ahold of F-Bomb and get his setup. His 09 is an absolute dream to ride.

for the same money or with some companies, less money you can get a pump gas turbo, and have way more power and it is just as reliable. the 860's are pretty rippy sleds on the bottom end dont get me wrong, but like idaho hot shot stated a twin piped 800 pulls just as hard if not harder on the top end. plus hair dryers sounds cool!

Don't forget the altitude power loss of that BB (or any naturally aspirated motor). The turbo will keep it's power up higher.

The 800 motor being the same as the 440, 600 , and 700 small block has small ports in it so its not going to flow the airflow needed for the big bore. The old big block 800 has larger ports.
I was looking at this motor when it came out and if there was a benefit of a big bore I would have done it.
All I do is porting (cylinder and case), a billit head, and pipe kit.
Turbos will loose at altitude as well, but just turn up the boost and your back to square one.

Big bores are a dying breed for sure most want a turbo now. It' seems they do not make as many motors big bore friendly any more.

It is so that I'm running low altitude. I know people here have had trouble with their supercharged machines, that's how I thought about the big bore.

Luckily I have stoxresearch just around the corner, I'll check with him what he thinks is most appropriate to find the brutal dark force that RMK possess :)
