The Blues 24/25

That was the maiden voyage for the OG with the Dakota performance stage 3 kit. I drove to the Spokane airport the night before to get the stator that wasn’t delivered. It was a long night.

Btw the OG is still in the fleet with over 7k miles. Might ride it on the 14th just to turn some heads.

It's amazing what a group will do and the distance they will travel to get a hamburger grilled on the mountain. My sled read 95 miles.

Six made the trip. Only CB.858 spent more money buying gas for his Cat from other riders at the warming shelter for his return trip than he did for his hamburger. Everyone else made it on the fuel in their tank without having to add any more along the route.

Left the clubhouse at 9.

Got back just before 5.

There is the swing by the Table Rock Lookout for the picture showing we made it that far.

It was a great day to start the season. There were no issues. One more storm and we would have had to dig in several places.

Flying W does make a mean hamburger. For the record I did buy 2.5 gallons of gas as I was sitting at about 1/3 of a tank of fuel left for the second half of the trip. Everyone else was in a similar situation with only about 4 gallons of extra gas for the entire group. If Flying would have brought his extra gas like promised it wouldn’t have been such a big deal.
I am happy to report that the 8.58 is running much better. However I am testing some clutching and the load was way too heavy.
It was a great group of people, great weather and about as good of conditions that I have seen on this route.
It was too bad Billy and Busted Nut couldn’t make the trip. IMG_4191.jpegIMG_4192.jpegIMG_4196.jpegIMG_4195.jpegIMG_4200.jpeg

Ride Report Dayton 12/28/24
Slush in the parking lot, pretty good up on top, could get off the trail in some areas. Great burgers at Godman!

Sadly had to ride with Textron rider... Sled broke down back to the parking lot to repair:

Sled "fixed" back to riding...

Sled broken again back to the parking lot....

Smart Textron riders bring a spare Textron to ride... roll the spare sled out...
oh, oh the spare Textron broke down too...

The Ski Doos ran great all day!

CB8, thanks for the fun day!

Saw the same thing on our ride across the mountain. I thought he was talking to Siri to adjust his snowmobile.

It looks like it was a good plan to get out of town for awhile and enjoy some dry powder.

Was just north of West Yellowstone at 9100 feet. Maiden voyage on a new snowbike. About 4 feet of fresh powder.

The crew cut out some trees in the trail that were a problem the week before. Probably wouldn't have been a problem with the new snow they have received the last week.

Hopefully it is better at home next week.

For the record the backup was not a textron it was the real McCoy. I will admit things have gone as planned. Power valve issue bad on textron. Clutching bad on me. Broken brake lever, that was me too. Flat air shock bad on Fox.

I am so sore from being the skidoo hill crew.

Wait a minute is that rainbow bright being worked on?IMG_4250.jpegIMG_4251.jpegIMG_4252.jpegIMG_4254.jpeg

People who ride Textrons... have their challenges....

A mile into the ride... something is broken... How many Cat riders does it take to put a nut on a bolt?

Two hours later, we dug this Textron out of a Cat hole.. the trench was so deep, we could hear people speaking Chinese in the bottom of the hole:

Not pictured, the non-running Polaris left on the hill

The Ski Doo? Ran GREAT all day!

I think the problem began 1/2 mile into the ride when the Cat rider hit the only tree on an open slope on the side that he soon had problems with. I guess this tree caused the issue. Good thing he didn't hit the bigger tree behind him.

CB.8.58 said it was going to be a 2 nut ride day. That was because he knew they would be needing one nut to put one of the Cats back together.

Cat people at Tollgate ventured out today in the wet new snow. Luckily they took a Ski Doo with them so I'm comfortable they will make it back.

It tough being hated so much. Even though it hasn’t been perfect to this point the 858 is awesome!

It is hard to get any love with the crew I was saddled with on New Years.

Let’s start with Mike. He is so old he remembers when Skidoos were good or so he says. 😂
There is one nut Bill. No more explanation needed. 🔩
Then there is the Rockstar Glenn. Or at least he was trying to ride a Husky Rockstar. He showed off his moves in the first opening where we had to go up and save him when he tipped over. 🛵
Last but not least is the cat rider Pretty Boy Brian. He has the ladies flocking to him in the warming hut. The boy has mad skills.😇

But in all honesty they are a great bunch of guys that I would ride with anytime. It would be much easier if they all came to the dark side! IMG_4268.jpegIMG_4263.jpeg
