BEWARE!!!!!! in Cooke City

I've been going out west for about 12 years now and have always been treated good and had a great time. I recently just came back from my 1st trip to Cooke City and although I had a really good time there, I must comment on one particular buiseness. But 1st I must say that every buiseness I delt with was very good to me and fair, especially Bearclaw Bob, supergood people. But there is one buisness that I cannot say that about, and that would be Rick at the Exxon Polaris & Ski Doo shop in town. If your not real close to your money, just go there, Rick will try to take every penny he can from you, like $32 for a tiny C-clip for my carburator that took him two minutes to get. So I'm just saying BEWARE!!!!!!! P.S. The bakery at Bearclaw cafe is to die for, the best around, and a damn good breakfest as well, and cheap too. Thanks.

supply and demand, if you dont have that little part, who cares, you cant ride, $32 for him to stock a tiny part for an older sled thats just gonna sit aint to bad, this is sledding, its not free, be glad you got to go ride your own sled not rent one at $200+ a day.

Had Rick not had that clip and installed it for you it would have cost you a day to run to Bozeman to have the same thing done. It would also cost you money for the dealer to do the work, gas to get there and back. Then you would complain that Rick didn't have the clip.
Pull up the big girl panties. Snowmobiling is expensive.

yeah, I guess I should of waited till morning, because every other shop in town said a couple of bucks would have been sufficant. Imagine that.

I have only been to Cooke once, but Rick at took exceptional care of me. On the way in my cover shredded tearing the wires from my kill switch, and then the first day I wrecked a lower a-arm... Took care of things both times and was reasonable from a cost standpoint...

i always say convenience costs...

when we go up for a two day ride, do i want to haul gas up for the second day or pay double to have the convenience to just pull up to the pump there and fill up. i always bring my own;)

I always bring my own gas, that way I know what's going into it, because it's ALWAYS cheaper.

Another idiot heard from. You've been coming out west for years but yet you just recently joined this forum and low and behold your first post is to bitch about a business in Cooke. You related to snowsnob? Or better yet are you snowsnob posing as someone else? If you got screwed so bad and wanted everyone to know you got charged 32 dollars for a c clip for a carb scan the receipt and post it up! Because I for one do not believe a word you posted!

Yep, its like Bear lodge up in the big horns. My dad pulled the pull cord completely out of the starter. we took the sled to get it fixed(assuming it would be quick with the proper tools) and they stalled half a day and said they couldn't get to it the next trying to get us to rent one instead for two days.

We said screw it, we went into the restaurant and asked if anyone could do it for some cash. Four guys stepped up and helped us, and wouldn't let us pay them but with a round of drinks.

Long story short at least he got you what you needed.

roflmao...waited till morning...ok my imagination is going wild here..

ya call him after hours...and he has had a long long day...he lives at least 40 minutes from the shop...

he is good enough to go back and open up for ya..and has to look for half an hour for this rinky dink part..

He does this out of the goodness of his heart and his business side says to him maybe you will buy a jug of oil or a belt knowing what your putting him through..

but no...what he see's he is tortured with after hours is a whining sniveling
nincoompoop...

so he charges something to make up for his cold supper...upset wife...and ruined evening plans..

roflmao....

oh yea...the icing on the cake is that the next day instead of enjoying your ride you sat in your truck and called everyone else in town to do a price check..???

wow you have a future with Wallmart...

I was thinking the same thing when I read that. If you couldn't swallow the price why even buy it?? Heavy buyers remorse over 32$ which enabled you to ride:face-icon-small-dis Hate to break it to you but sledding might be the wrong sport for ya...

32 for a c clip.lmao.probably wants 3200 for a whole carb..

well lets talk retail space...

if that little 32.oo clip was taking the space on the shelf of a diamond that was say about 500 bucks, and over the years the clip didn;t sell but 10 diamonds would have...then in theory that little clip caused the business owner to lose over 5 grand in retail sales with a potential profit of two grand lost..!!!...

so zeeman...get your butt back there...you owe him another 1968.00 in lost profit because he kept that little clip for you...

I'm not trying to make Rick out to be a bad guy, I'm sure he has done a lot of good for a lot of people, I'm just saying he took complete advantage of my situation.
