Best track width for boondocking

Wondering if a 15 wide works alot better for boondocking aposed to a 16 wide...Also maverick or challenger? running it on a turbo apex....My goal to have the sled be great handling in the trees and light as possible.....

I have never noticed a difference on 15 vs 16 as far as boondocking goes. I do like the 16 better for other things.

I wish there was a short cut for turning the Apex into a good boondocking sled. From my experience even throwing enough money at it to get it down to 520pds w/out fuel will not turn it into a nibble boondocking sled. The only way to make this happen is lot's of riding. I rode them for almost 2 years before I was confident that I could boondock with any sled out there. If your willing to invest the time into riding this sled it will come and once you get it there will be no looking back. I know a few guys who rode them for about three months and baled. Those of us who stuck it out learned how to ride these pigs almost effortlessly and are now boondocking the LW's into the ground. This sled produces so much HP it's almost out of control until you spend enough time on it to re-learn how to ride. In the end it's worth it.

The Maverick is a pretty soft track but if ran backwards works as good as any track I've tried. It won't last as long as the challenger, but there a dime a dozen right now.

I have been riding this sled for 3 winters...haven't had a problem keeping up or I me Leading ...lol....just want to make it better.....Just wondering which track would work the best......My maverick is in bad shape with 3 years of boost on it....

My Nytro is not turboed, but I went from a 15" wide to a 16" wide and will be going back to a 15" wide again. I think the 15" wide handles better and is more predictable. .

15 wide are much nicer riding tracks !!!!! period

They make better track speed and turn much better I have more fun with them and will never have a 16 wide they make any sled into a pig for turning:beer;

I had a 16 on mine and went back to a 15 wide and like it much better. For the harder snow conditions we have in Washington I like the ability to turn better with the 15. The 16 felt like a sheet of plywood!
