Best Patriot boost aftermarket exhaust

I have yet to see any dyno info showing that aftermarket snowmobile cans produce MORE power than stock.

If any manufacturer was real about actual gains they'd be posting youtube videos left and right of their dyno runs (along with methodology/repeatability).

Anytime someone posts a dyno video of anything it gets nitpicked to all hell. Seems it just invites more speculation and skepticism than it eliminates.

Manufacturer race teams are probably one of the few parties out there who have the resources to do any sort of valid testing on cans. Seems they have been going with Diamond S. That's not to say they're better or worse than the other options. But if it's good enough for the race team, I'll go ahead and assume it's good enough for me.

A long time ago in a trailer far far away, I had a good old XLT with triple pipes and race stingers.
I used to have to make sure everyone was out of the enclosed trailer before I warmed her up cause it would make your ears bleed.
My riding buddies liked it just because they always knew where I was on the mountain.
These days it's all about the weight savings and being able to fit a cooker for a hot lunch.

If using a dyno scientifically to show repeatable results, it's data (science) vs speculation (marketing based on speculative claims).

By not showing a test process of baseline vs. change vs baseline, on the same day/motor, one is inviting all the skepticism one deserves.

marketers count on the public to not think critically.
i get having a cooker-can't argue against that but the weight savings is more marketing. you're never going to notice it and it becomes even more questionable with the prices that are charged.
want a cool can that actually does something? buy a gun and get a can (suppressor). atf form 4 wait times are historically short now.

Speaking of that, when are sled cans going to start being 3D printed with titanium like firearm cans?!

the flow through cans are pretty interesting with less gunpowder gas to the face. created thanks to 3d printing. a sled can via that method would prolly be prohibitively expensive.

Less gas for sure. But back to sled cans... seems like a good opportunity to evolve the standards and create more precise designs.

agreed but I think what may be insurmountable are ever tightening epa regs and the costs associated.

Nobody's aftermarket cans are approved by the EPA, are they?

I thought the OEMs were the only ones responsible for passing regs for emissions and sound.

yeah i was referring to the oem's with their resources in terms of coming up with better can design.
don't see aftermarket having what it takes to make better ones at a reasonable price.
