Yes, the Charmac is a good bargain...but remember, you get what you pay for.
Something rarely talked about when these threads pop up is trailer security. That was the icing on the cake when choosing the triton. All the other brands use surface mount lever locks that you put a padlock on. The triton's use an integral, internal locking mechanism that is virtually theft proof (obviously, nothing is 100%...but these locks are sweet, and no padlocks to deal with freezing up).

The best trailer hands down is triton...best bang for your buck is toss up between charmac and haulmark.....but trioton trailers are soooo nice.
I'm a Wells Cargo dealer these days so I may have some bias, I have owned and I have looked at the competition. I'm not that impressed with the Triton surface mount lever / locks. I like the rigidity and easy of maintenance on the cam bar setup that most manufacturers use. Have you seen the newer style cambar locks that don't require a padlock? Great locks - great security and should anything go wrong with my open/close mechanism I can SEE it and fix it! At the Salt Lake Snow Show this year we had Trailco (Triton) reps taking pics of various aspects of our Wells trailers! The floor on the Mirage and Haulmark is cool -but Haulmark had to put a sign on their ramps at the show as it's slick and people were falling on their a$$es!.. (indoors).Put a little frost on those ramps! (yea - they are all slick with frost, but those were dry!)
Wells Cargo has built trailers forever now (1954) and I think it's tough to find a more durable and well built trailer for the money. Come see us for a great deal (Alum or Steel) on a Wells Cargo quality built rig! We're offering some great incentives right now! We sold 6 trailers at the Snow Show alone and would love to put more of you in the quality you are looking for!
