enclosed aluminum trailer bumper hitch to gooseneck conversion.

looking at converting our 7 by 29' enclosed trailer from bumper to gooseneck. it's been a while since there has been any new pictures floating around. anyone have any new ideas or things they would change?
Thanks

Care to share any more details?
Do you have any plans to tie into the top / roof of the trailer as well ?

Always wanted to do exactly this on my 7x23 enclosed.
Sold it to buy a trailswest, then borrowed a buddies and immediately scrapped that plan. 6-8mpg at 75-80 sucks.
11-12mpg at 90 with a 7 wide is still the ticket. Throw in a GN and you have the golden ticket.

The factory made goosenecks are all too tall, wide, and HEAVY. and oh do they suck the fuel when you try to even run only the speed limit..

And yes @Clark42 about as midwestern as you can get haha.

No plans to tie it into the top. There isn't good structure inside the trailer to attach it to.

The beam is 4 by 6 tubing.

Welded an aluminum plate to the original hitch after it was cut off. 8" channel runs 5' back under the trailer bolted to original frame work.
1/2" by 6" aluminum plate for extra reinforcement to main frame.

Its not rewired yet, but did pull it once to see if it rode like. Granted it was empty, but didn't have jerking like a bumper hitch. More interested if it helps with less then ideal conditions.

As Clark42 said, we are from the Midwest and it's a poor man's gooseneck. Our closest decent riding is usually 700 away. About $1,400 in materials.

That is quite the build!
The trailer looks level in the picture so what is the height from the ground to the gooseneck ball? Also, what is the distance from the ball centre to the upright?
