FYI

I was over at Turple Bros In Red Deer, Alberta the other day and they told me that all sleds that get snowchecked receive a $1000 refund to compensate for the us / can diference. Also they expect the prices to be adjusted if the canadian dollar stays where it is or goes higher. They said you would be guarateed the lower price if it goes down until fall which it should. So that sled worth $14 or so would be a lot cheaper. I guess they have some other promotions to make up for the slow year.

So just a heads up to check prices with them if you're buying in alberta, we need to keep business in canada, glad to see a business trying the best they can to help..

Turple Bros number is 403-346-5238, and no I don't work there, they just treat me good and i figured it could save some guys a few bucks..

the dealer can only do so much, but come on $1000 rebate, the sled sells for $4000 less in the states, our money is on par and they only give you $1000, give me a break. I deal with turples a fair bit, only i have no intention of buying another canadian sled until the prices are the same. do you think they are doing you a favor, don't be fooled by some lame rebate, how about the rest of the $4000.

They pay a higher price for the sleds too, so it's hurting all canadian dealers as well, i know the prices across teh border aren't fair, just thought I'd fill people in on the situation. I agree, sleds should be the same price as the states..

I have done some checking heres what I have found

2011 154X here 13490 plus gst all fees inc with the new rebate

2011 154X in montana 11500 USD out the door all fees inc

plus 2.5% to buy USD money today plus 207 for RIV plus getting it back here....

with my calculations its 1571 CAD dollars cheaper across the line.....is that worth it?? That doesnt count the time to get the title and drive down and get it and take it to canadian tire for the inspection. BRP should bump it to 2G and then it would be pretty even up with todays dollar.

Then there is the warranty problem....one major component takes a dump and all your savings are gone and then some.

I Feel for you guys thats a bs move by brp. They should be selling you guys these things for what we pay here or less for that matter. I would come down here and buy one just for the principle of it. Another 1500 rebate wouldnt kill them..Goodluck

Don't feel bad....it's 2 completely different countries. Beer is half price down there....houses, car insurance, Big Mac's, cheese, tires, you name it. Goods and services cost less in the US because it has more buying power by way of having roughly 10 times the population....just the way she goes.

Yes thats exactly it plus it costs more too do business in Canada.I don't expect too pay the same as the US pricing but if it was about10-15% more than US prices then that would be fair. But when its almost 30% more we are getting hosed again:brokenheart:

If it was a major component fail, just pack it up across the border and they will fix it. If I had a motor go down i would haul it to great falls for 4k worth of repairs! If its something minor then just fix it yourself.

Yup, I agree. I was all ready to buy my third new sled in four years until I saw the price difference, it's complete BS. Anyways BRP lost one 2011 154x sale this year from me. I will ride my 08 xp till it explodes.
I took the money that I had set aside for the new sled and bought a near new searay ski boat out of the usa today. wow what a good deal I got!

Depends what you're schedual is I suppose....I barely have enough non-work time to GO sledding....let alone drive the thing hours to drop it off and more hours to pick it up.
