Very Shocking story! I knew them also, especially Bob...also known as woodstove Bob, the most dedicated snowmbiler i have ever seen, he lived to snowmobile. I've ridden with him many times, he is one of my dads best friends. He's given me a lot of tips on how to ride. We're gonna miss him a lot. Prayers go out to them and their families.

we just came back from alpine and at smiths fork there were 20 guys and search and rescue just heading out at around 7. hope someone is just lost not in avy.

I would say they were wearing beacons as far as I know. I have ridden with these guys and beacons were always a must.

I was told the quy who dug himself out could not get his beacon to work. I don't know if it was damaged or why it would not get a signal.

No abs.

Thoughts & condolences to all family & freinds of lost. I too love the area & have been very causious of the huge bowls & peaks around Greys in last few years. I've been heard to say "Star Valley is as Close to Heaven as it gets".
