BDX deflection adjuster... Have to buy adjuster tool seperate?

I went to install my deflection adjuster last night and realized that it cannot be adjusted without their adjuster tool.
Is it just me or should they be sold together?
Its a cool little adjuster, but 20 bucks for the adjuster and 20 bucks for the tool seems like a rip off to me.
I guess I can make one... Just disapointed that it does not state that the adjuster tool is needed.
And if you use this tool to spread the sheaves to remove your belt, do you guys mark the adjuster so you can put it back to where you had it, or re-adjust each time?
And do you re-use the O-ring?
No instructions or directions.
Maybe I'm missing something, but as of now the stock collar and shims seems to be the way to go, set it and forget it.

If you buy the adjuster tool for an M7 that gets tightened with a spark plug wrench it can be modified to work.

That is only like $4 or $5. Then take a large drill bit or wood boring bit and trim down the center piece. Could also use a grinder if you had to.

Just didn't realize that if bought from BDX I would be in this deflection adjuster 40 bucks

You don't use anything on the adjuster. Take your stock adjuster adapter and grind the center nub out of it. Works like a charm. I too was surprised the stock one wouldn't work.

This is an 08 clutch, there is no stock adjuster.
I assume you mean the 06 and older driven clutches.
