Black Diamond Bumper Thoughts?

Hi All;

Well we have finished the snowmobile shows and are getting ready to get after a rear bumper mod and a few Lite-Weight products for the Yamaha's probably starting with the Nytro.

I attached a couple of pics (I hope he doesn't mind) of a sled someone put one of our rear bumpers on from a Cat, can I get everyone's thoughts on this? First of all I want to thank him for the pics and it looks like he did a great job! I just got off the phone with him, he gave some great suggestions!

So please if you have feedback?

Maybe a little farther forward and incorporate a set of drop brackets with the running board supports?

Any other thoughts?

Mike

I'd like to see the foot supports start right after the drop brackets. I see in the pics that this is installed on with Timbersled drop brackets which is what I have. However, I don't think I would want to cut any of the stock tunnel away, only the tunnel extension. What I mean is that the tunnel extension over laps the tunnel behind the drop brackets and is riveted on. I would want to look at the angle that the extension and the main tunnel are overlapped and only cut away the tunnel extenion to install the bumper.

Other than that, it looks good.

Further foward, but don't incorporte drop brackets IMO.

I'd like something simple and bolt on.. I don't wanna remove my skid or remove the whole stock extension piece..
Yes, I understand cutting will be required on the stock extension, but thats not bad.

Oh, and a rounded bumper...at least at the back where you grab.
That one looks like it will be hard on the hands..

Glad somethin in the works.

I know lot of guys are waiting.

right after the brackets and some side pieces available without the bumper for those who have tunnel extensions

X2. Would like to keep the install simple, but leave my TS brackets alone. Rounded bumper to grab is a definite requirement.

Looks pretty good, but needs a relocation of the support bracket (for non stock drop brackets) and the height of the support bracket could be extended to the upper part of the tunnel at the bend. Height isn’t a major problem, just a thought. Also by moving the support bracket forward the bumper piece can be extended as well for more running board deletion. I attached edited pictures. Thanks for your efforts on this issue. :D

I don’t think the bumper needs to be rounded, it is flatted in the area where you grip it, my buddy’s M1000 has the kit and not a problem at all. IMO

I dunno if the support bracket needs to go higher on the tunnel? Why?

Just wondering why, not tryin to bash the idea?
I think it might look goofy that tall, and/or get in the way?

No worries, I've just seen other tunnels go that high and like it, like CR Racing and VE's is all. I'll take it either way, I just mainly want to cut as much of the running boards as possible and use their bumper.

Mike, Hope all goes well with disassembly this week! Can't wait to start seeing some parts. Anyone else got any ideas for parts? When Mike picked up the sled we talked about the bumper obviously as well as a arms and rear skid parts. I also brought up the idea of a stronger bulkhead as we all know these can bend easily. Hope more people show interest in this Mike seems to be a great guy and represents a great buisness. Seeing how light there cats are shows me they can definatly come up with some great stuff, but lets keep the ideas flowing.

Good to hear, cause there is about 3 to 5 inches extra tunnel that can be cut off with aftermarket brackets.
