Bad experience with rexburg motorsports

i think ANY customer who walks through the door spending 12k deserves to be treated in a professional courteous manner period. you may go up and above for your regular customers but that shouldn't be at the expensive of a first time customer. a very short sighted business model if you ask me...

What I absolutely cannot stand about Rexburg, SNOW CHECK DIRECT!

Their "Setup Options" chart is 100% fraudulent..
setup-options-chart.jpg

EVERYTHING included in the "premium" setup is 100% REQUIRED by Polaris and should not be an additional charge.. $157 my ***..
The complete manufacturer's PDI checklist alone calls out their LIE.. Never bother with these guys..

Any customer that is willing to spend $12 (not $12K) deserves to be treated in a professional courteous manner. That guy in the ragged duds, just might be the richest guy in town and next week want to buy 6 new sleds with cash. Everyone should be treated the same as far as cusomer service. Maybe not when it comes to dollars on toys and parts, but as far as customer service and getting work done promptly, no single customer is more important then any other.

When Polaris dealers register a snowcheck sled during snowcheck season there is a form that gets filled out online with all customer info and what sled and options he wants,a email is sent to the customer and a order# gets assigned to the order per the snowcheck dealer site. The vin # is not know at this time.So it's delivery time and the dealer has in x amount of snow check sleds. It is now up to the dealer to pick which sled goes to which customer yes the sleds are vin locked but not to a specific customer,on the dealers sled inventory list the vin is highlighted in red as a snow check and MUST be registered to a snowcheck customer. When my snowcheck sleds come in I have a file folder with the customers name and what he ordered in it,pick a MSO that came in the mail from Polaris, and make it that customers sled, write their name on the protective wrap covering the snowchecked sled simple easy process that seems to over the top for some people(salesman)

I'm not saying you get a VIN at snow check but my dealer assigned VIN numbers to customers prior to the sled being uncrated. That's not to say they couldn't change it. They probably got a list of VIN's and assigned them to customers. When I talked to them I was told that my sled was still crated up and it was on their list to be setup that day. That tells me that they couldn't just go grab a sled and call it mine. Maybe that is just their process. But it seems smart to assign each sled to a customer prior to opening crates and having stuff everywhere.

This dude got completely hosed on a deal as described, and should be rightfully PO'ed. He did more than I ever would, and he's still likely in for trouble with the 4yr warranty. And he's not the only one on here with these crappy experiences from Rexburg. That tells you all you need to know. What goes around comes around. Sounds like a Team Hozeman story. Buyer beware guys. Another reason to find a dealer you trust, even if they charge a fistfull of dollars more. Thanks for sharing, and the reminder.

That list is a complete joke, a buddy of mine was thinking about getting a XM from them this year until he say the freaking list. Everything on it except for a SLP can and a half tank of fuel needs to be done on every brand and model of sled. Oh and what about sleds that may be 4 stroke or the Etec's, are they going to dump a quart of oil down the fuel tank anyway or charge you for the oil but not put it in????

The manufactures require the dealer to preform those tasks before they can legally sell them.

Curious...How would the guy who started this post get a warranty card from Polaris with his name and a vin assigned to it?

If they sold it to someone else, they had to assign the VIN for the snowcheck sled to one of their existing snowcheck customers from the spring buy list, which automatically trigged the mailing from Poo star. The warranty for the guy or gal who got the snowcheck sled with his VIN should be interesting, too.

This post makes me glad I live in the Treasure Valley where I have High Mark Recreation and Carl's Cycle, two great Polaris dealers to choose from.

So , are they gonna track down his machine and give it to him broke in and the other person that had it get's another new one ? Sure sounds like a lot of paper work for an attorney .

Wow over 1100 people who are mad for sledding have seen this post. Not so good for Rexburg. Dylanrowe have they done anything to make you whole on this deal? Again, I would make sure you get your warranty cards in hand as soon as you can.

After all these years, I'm still blown away at how far people will travel to save some bucks on something as finicky as a snowmobile....

This is in no way the customer's fault.....BUT even if you had a similar (bad) experience at your local dealership, at least you wouldn't have pain and agony PLUS 24 hours of driving. Just gotta ask yourself if it's worth it sometimes.

I'm guessing like he felt it was worth it, or he wouldn't have gone there. IF the dealership had held up their end of the deal. Amazing that a dealer can get to be this big with as many bad stories as there are floating around about them.

i agree i am surprised that there can be this many bad reviews on this post. usually you get like 1 or 2 people that have heard of people having a bad experience, but this is another animal!

I have never purchased anything there, but a friend of mine tried to buy a used dirt bike from them. First their starting price was $4,600. A little more than the book value of that machine so they went down to $4,460 with a paddle tire thrown in (which was still just above book value). My friend said he would think about it and let them know the next day. Salesman called him back the next day and said he worked out a deal on the bike and said they could do $4,600 for him! He then reminded the salesman that they were at the lower price the day before and the salesman acted dumb and said his notes didn't show anything like that. Needless to say he did not purchase the machine.

One thing to remember is that with a dealer who does this kind of volume even if they are 98% to the good they will have 10-15 deals that went bad every year. Over the course of 10-15 years there are literally hundreds of customers who hate them. The 98% are not all going to post the good deals on line. Most people never post about their good experiences. The guys that get hosed usually ALL post the bad deals. Very hard for a high volume low margin dealership to look good online. I AM NOT DEFENDING THEM, I DON'T KNOW THEM, DYLANROWE GOT THE SHAFT FOR SURE ON THIS DEAL. Just something to think about...

I live in MN. I purchased a new 2011 pro 155 from them. there were some glitches when I picked it up on my 1st day of vacation to w.yellowstone in late december. I was however made happy with the transaction by the time I left with it that day. I traded my 11 pro on a snow check 13 pro and I was happy enough with Rexburg to give them a crack at the deal. They did have the best out the door price on the trade but I did the deal here in MN for not much more and a lot more convenient then doing deals on vacation. In the end I have nothing bad to say about Rexburg in fact they treated me well, but I did learn the value of shopping closer to home.

We have a cabin in Island Park, spent a week riding up there a few years back. Had an Apex with boost and had an issue with it the second day - couldn't get it to start. Tried a lot of things, nothing worked. Called them up, explained everything/symptoms, and they said to bring it in, they could get it fixed and up and running in 24 hrs most likely. Took it to them (about 60 miles) early morning. Got back to the cabin and got a good half day riding with our group. Next morning, went out to start up the truck to warm up, then going to call and make sure the sled was ready. While starting up the truck, I noticed the key to the Apex in the console. Took off for Rexburg to get the key to them. Got there and was told that the sled was fixed, were just ready to call me and my bill was over $350, which they showed me the breakdown with my name on the invoice. I asked them how the hell that they fixed it with out having the key? After a few minutes of them stammering and stuttering, trying to make up BS, they said it must be a mistake and that it was someone else sled. I asked to see "someone else" sled to make sure that they didn't get confused and I didn't really trust that there were two boosted Apex's in their shop with the same basic problem. They could not show me the "other" sled. Needless to say. loaded my sled up and when I got back home, Matt Hasara fixed it for less than $100. We drive by their place numerous times over the years, I would never, ever set foot on that place again, would not spend a cent with them. I thought it was just an isolated case until I read this thread.

I live about seven miles north of RMS and I would, and have, drove to Action Motorsports in IF to buy anything major. It's just a better buying experience at Action, for me. The sales crew at RMS need to learn their products better, lots of questions they cant answer. Lots of salesmen turnover at RMS and they carry a lot of lines, but still thats what they are supposed to know, right? I will go to RMS for some parts and acc., and Jordan and couple others in parts are knowledgeable and really good to deal with but the sales part needs some help imo. Cant comment about shop service much but I have heard some bad stories. Feel bad for the op, he was a lot calmer then I would be after dropping that kinda coin and getting shafted like that. Also, I have heard very good things about PMS in Ashton,ID. about 30 miles north of Rexburg right on the way to Island Park and West.If I ever get back on track financially I will probably check PMS out for a new poo.
