Back Pain.....

Very, very well put.

I'll call BS!! on this one. My chiro went to school for 7 years to learn his profession. I have been to MD's and chiro's for my back issues, which I've had for more years than I want to remember. MD's have their place, and are very much respected by me. That said all they could do for my back was prescribe pills. I've been to several chiro's till I found one that I like, I am not pain free, but I'm going into my 3rd week without a treatment, and I'm dam exicted about that. With 30+ years living with back problems, for my own self chiro's are the answer. Just thought you should know that in Can. it's 7 years of education to become a certified chiro here, don't know about the US, but be sure of who you are trusting with your health. Not my $.02 that's my$.10:face-icon-small-win

Hey, I have occasional back pain and normally a blow job does wonders. I will say it again, the solution depends upon the original problem causing the pain. If you have no disc tissue left and you have bone rubbing on nerves the only solution is surgery. If you have severe stenosis in your spine the only fix is surgery, a chiro can do nothing at all for that. If you have a strained muscle causing pain then maybe a Chiro can help you or maybe pain pills can help until the muscle releases and relaxes. There are so many causes of back pain it takes some investigation to figure it out. Ruptured discs may very well show up as pain down the leg and numbness rather than back pain. It all depends. Safest route in my opinion is to first see an MD and then go from there depending upon what you find...........

This thread is going nowhere fast. "Tastes Great! Less Filling!"
Dr's and Chiros are both very well trained professionals. Just like Dr"s, some Chiro's suck and vice versa.
I've had back problems all my adult life. I had L-5 S-1 disc removed when I was 23 years old. Dr. did a great job of the surgery then and today my Chiro does a great job of keeping me aligned.
There's no right or wrong in this thread...just opinions based on personal experience.
Sorta like....Skidoo is better than Arctic Cat! Actually, that is pretty much factual

Most of the good chiros will take x-rays and they know a lot more about the spine than an MD thats kinda their area of study;)

but are they good x-rays......doubtful. Huge difference between some Dr or chiro hitting a button and the image that will show up when an RT takes it.

Bottom line, everyone kind of believes in what has helped them and that is understandable. What works for some does not work for others because not everyone with a hurt in their back has the same problem causing the hurt. For instance, my wife went to a Chiropractor for years about once a month or so and it always made her feel better. It finally got to the point that it was no longer helping and she was in a lot of pain. She went to a Neurosurgeon and they did an MRI which showed definite problems with her L4-5 and S-1. He refused to operate on her until she came begging he told us. Three years later, she went begging and that was four years ago. He fused her L-4, L-5 and S-1. It was a major operation. She is as limber as she ever was and probably more so. She has not had one instance of pain since that surgery four years ago and she was out riding her sled six weeks after the surgery which the surgeon was not happy about. The surgeon that operated on her is a very well known neurosurgeon and did a fantastic job. Anyone who thinks a Chiropractor knows more about the spine than the surgeon that performed my wife's surgery is extremely naive.

I am not saying a Chiropractor cannot help. It depends upon the problem causing the pain. Ragging on highly trained surgeons is naive at best. My daughter is an MD and works as an ER Doc at St. Mary's in Grand Junction. Comparing her to a Chiropractor is like comparing a Ferrari to a skate board.

Chiropractors have their place but then again so do MDs. The education levels of the two aren't even on the same planet.

just wondering how you came to this conclusion?? you ever take chiroapractic schooling? or just what you have been told????? not trying to start anything, just wondering???????
