Axys vs new ski doo 800

I rode a pro for couple years, road a demo axys for a weekend, ended up buying a 174 doo. Really like the handling and power compared to my pro. Steering effort is a lot less I found on the skidoo.

Just had the same comment from a bud yesterday. He bought a new to him '13 Pro this year and loved it during winter. It's now spring.
His last ride was with Doo bros and they swapped sleds a lot. Every one thought the Pro steered too hard with the fresh 6"'s of spring snow on sun melted base.

So I pulled out his shock wrench and told him to roll the sled over and guessed at how much to loosen the rear spring and tighten the front spring and told him to give that a try.

He came back very happy and I further explained to him, the better handling and the lighter the package, the more important and greater the need is to tweak the suspention for conditions.
I also explained the fact that Poo uses the most aggressive ski stock and sometimes it is not needed but it's still there.

Then we "helmeted-up", took off through the dripping trees and finger wiped the huge wet flakes off the goggs about every 15 secs.
Yeehaw a bit of winter in the spring. Great to be on sled, eh, whatever you have for a ride.

I've only ridden 1 XM, and my buddy that I swapped with had never ridden a pro. He tipped my pro over trying to do his first powder turn. I have my suspension dialed on my pro, not sure what he's done on his, but there is absolutely no way that the XM takes less effort to ride than a pro. The pro is also way easier to roll over, even he admits it!

Always have from day one- Never needed it and the weight is next to nothing- but I can tell you that it would be a pain changing one out with ES- in the back country as the entire tray has to come out.. but have the tools for that with me also.

Yep, I think I could do a full rebuild in the field with the tools I carry.?

I actually found the caliper in the footwell pretty annoying. And the one I rode did not have the accessory foot peg thingy so I found my foot slipping out of the footwell once in a while.

I have found rider forward doesn't work for me on the Doo platform. Standing in the pocket, as we do on the Pro or AXYS, gives a definite ill handling effect and traction loss to the Doo XM and G4. The 850, in my opinion, you need to stand back another half to full foot length. The Doo faithful I ride with have the same comment on foot placement. With that said, the brake location should not hinder the ride.
