Axys Track Pitch Wrong?

Where are the outer drivers? I dont see them popping through the window?

The outer drivers ( L&R) engage on the nubs on the inside of the track- you won't see them in a stock configuration - They DO NOT drive on the window opening

Here is where you should be and in all reality- you can run WITHOUT the center driver- it engages on nothing- and pull them when we run aftermarket.

Mind you this pic is on a 2.6 w/ 8 tooth-/ Did not have a 3" in the shop to post this- but same center for a visual..

Yes I realize all of this as I have run turbo pros with extrovert drivers, Centre driver removed. I'm A, wondering what exactly the issue is, and B slightly annoyed after driving 12hrs to pick up my sled and now have to take it back to the dealer or fix it myself.

But only slightly as the new axys Is flat out amazing....I actually have to remind myself to bother fixing it, all I want to do is ride it

Let's try this. The measurement of the long arrow should be 5.5". That will keep the track from wandering side to side. Your rear idlers are also set at this measurement. If after adjusting, the center drive isn't in the center of the track, then your drivers aren't centered properly. As far as from front to back. The short arrow shows the leading edge of the non-extrovert drivers. There is very little distance between these leading edges and the leading edge of the anti-ratchet point. If the outside drivers compress the rubber drive lugs or if the track starts to slip, it won't take much to get a picture like the ones above. Run your track a little tighter.

Fwiw i had a bad vibration when i installed a x3 on my pro. Turned out my adjustment was slightly off causing the outer drivers to ride up on the drive nubs. Adjusting the rear axle fixed it

dont overlook the track itself. those center windows could be punched out of place/ inaccurately. i used to work with a lot of camoplast tracks and sometimes saw some bad stuff, like the track was out of place in the jig when the windows were punched.

Beyond the track itself...

1. Is the driver timing exactly the same for all three drivers on the stock shaft?

2. Are the three drivers in the correct, and precise, alignment position along the shaft?

3. Are the drivers moving on the driveshaft at all (align, mark, and confirm)?

4. Is the track tension set?

Easy fix, just beat the center driver over 1/4" till it's centered.
Done this on my last 2 sleds.

A new drive shaft doesn't fix the issue. This is how mine looks after a new drive shaft and 120 miles. Taking it back to the dealer for this on going problem and I also found a crack in my cylinder.

What did they find? My track is also running to the left. It is 1/8" from the tunnel on left side and at least a half inch from the tunnel on the right side. Alignment at the rear seems fine. Tension is set per spec. Center driver is running on the edge of the track window like yours.

Polaris said its normal for a long track to do that. Which the tech and I say to BS. While riding the sled I could feel the center driver catching the edge of the track window and the tech also noticed wear on the driver to confirm it. More people with this issue need to bring it to polaris's attention and demand it to be taken care of. I'm calling Polaris on Monday.
As for the crack tech did some heat cycles and tests on it and said its not leaking.

Take it to you dealer and have them start a case file on it. That way if the track gets ruined because of the issue they can't come back on you and say it was your fault. Also if enough people bring there sled in with this issue hopefully Polaris will step up and make it right.

The track is always tight, always adjusted to polaris spec. The more I rode the sled, the more the track stretched, the better it got to a point. I tried the alignment, it instantly went out if align when I spun the track. Polaris without seeing the sled, just me making a phone call is sending a new driveshaft drivers and bearings. I don't think it's the issue, but they can start there. I am leaning towards a track issue. Will let you know next week.

And yes a hammer should align the extrovert, but it does not help the poor alignment that rubs the tunnel.

dear polaris: look at arctic cat drivers and where they mount the brake disc too. take note.
your friend,
die hard polaris guy

mine is back at the dealer for same exact thing. center driver doesn't look way off but trying to adjust the track tension is whacky because of the way it meshes with front drive shaft.

Mine has the same problem, about 1/8" on the left and 1/2" on the right for spacing. Seems to me that the fix would be to remove the drive shaft and press the drivers about 1/8" to the right.

Mine has been like that all season for 900 HARD miles along with every single other Axys I've seen. Just run it, what's it going to hurt, it's under warranty!
