Axys stock air intake enough?

Stock intake vents get covered with snow very often. It depends on the snow and outside temps but it can be a real problem. Many times I found myself quickly cleaning the vents off while climbing so the engine didnt bog down and end up stuck.

There are some aftermarket intake vent options but I have tried any of them. Eric

Over 2ft of over hood light pow stockers get clogged and bog for me. I added slp intakes and two small round frogzskins on other side of intake on each side. No more intake bogs. I still try to wipe a lot. Still not the greatest intake design IMO

I agree in over the hood snow it blubbers out some. The Pro Ride intake was better. I'd be interested in reviews of the SLP intake or any others as well.

I had a few 2 plus days and it never bogged on me once the tps was set correctly. SRX has his TPS set correctly (thanks for the post) so it must still happen to some, but for me it doesn't bog, nor did my pro. I do wipe intake off when I remember

These are available from Fire n Ice. Work really well.

Ive got a set of these the top ones are okay but the side ones are joke. only a third of the vent actually makes contact with the airbox and if your not careful you will open up the air box to the under hood area without covering it with a screen. hard to explain but be careful installing these ones and understand they are mostly for show. Fire and ice should have a warning about this in their kit
