Idaho Parks and recreation puts on free classroom and field Avalanche Awareness classes for snowmobilers. I was told they were open to washington residents, check with them on what is required (Idaho non resident tags, etc...) There is one on Jan 14th and 15th in the CDA area, a few more in St Maries and Bonners Ferry later on. I understand class space is limited, and you have to pre-register... check their website.
