Are the US Olympians getting screwed over or what?

There's no doubt they'll be tested.
Seems like the U.S. is just toying with the comepetition during the 200-400 meter programs. Most of the wins have been in the last 50 meters where they turn it on and take the lead.
Even last night when Phelps took the win with the 100m butterfly. He was behind the entire race until the last 50' and somehow (even though the Serb was there first, and seemed to have his hand on the wall first) won by 100th of a second.

Serbia protested the win and after much review on photos, video and computer timing, it was very clear Phelps hit the wall first. Do you honestly think that Phelps hasnt already been tested a gazzillion times? After every win he has to do another test. Why would the greatest Olympian ever dare to ruin it with drugs? He would know he would get caught. Even the best EVER couldnt purposely win by .01 of a second. I think the tank is running low after the schedule he has had. If that race would have been his first race, it would have been bye-bye Serbia!

So it's just like every other boxing match I have seen.

I pretty much hate any sport that requires a judge to rate your performance to be involved.

I mean, I have an appreciation for the sport, but I pretty much hate the judging.

I think it woud be better if you rounded up 15 people who have never seen the sport and let them decide who won.

Never leave it in the judges hands! Seems like boxing in general has gotten so corrupted over the years. But with the few Olympic matches that I've seen so far, the scoring has been way too inconsistent. And not just towards the U.S. but I saw one guy get tagged by a great combo and the dude that got hit scored points.

I will admit that the U.S. got screwed in a couple events. Women's uneven bars, and women's vault. The chinese girl landed on her knees and still scored better than the U.S. girl (Johnson?). The chineese girl also had her hands in the wrong postition at takeoff.

Then on the uneven bar competition Nastia tied with the Chinese girl. They gave the tie to the Chinese girl on a screwed up scoring system. On top of that, you are not allowed to have a judge in the competition from the same country as ANY of the competitors. So that means you have judges that are not as good because they don't have the experience. Gymnastics is as effed figure skating as far as I am concerned.

I thought the "tie" thing on the uneven bars was bad. US stuck her landing and the Chinese girl didn't. They both get the same score? And then the Chinese girl gets the gold? What the ****

Even if the call was right...tie should be that both girls get a gold, they scored the same!!

What gets me is the fact that the China girls actually think they out performed the Americans. They were jumping around like they really won. That tiebreaker meathod last night was a complete joke. If 2 people tie, you either give them both gold, or have a playoff or something. Don't just throw out 1 of the judges scores. It's got to be a hard thing to do knowing you won, but not bringing home the gold.

When is MMA going to be an olympic sport? That'd be awesome. Don't think the Chinese would get many charity medals in that sport.
