Are Motorfist bibs as good as Klim?

My wife bought me a pair of motorfist bibs for chrismas and said I could trade them on some Klim ones. I don't know much about motorfist are they as good or better than Klim bibs?

Klim bibs I know are good but if motor fist is as good I would keep them because just about everybody is riding with Kilm gear these days. I looked in the clothing section but no answers to my question.

I went with the motorfist and love them. Have the bibs and the jacket, formerly used all Klim

i have the klim bibs and really like them. I havent worn the motorfist bibs but from what i hear they make some nice stuff...

I have the Rekon jacket because I thought I would try it first. Awesome! I'm getting the bibs also!! Warm, dry and breathes excellent.

I have not tried to Klim Bibs/pants but I have the motorfist bibs and these things are phenomenal. they stay warm and dry every ride and all I wear underneath them is my skivies because if I wear anything else I get too warm! I've never in my history of snowmobiling had that happen.

The warranty from Motorfist is unbelievable also. One of the seams came un-stitched. I was headed to Island Park and would be passing by their headquarters. I called the warranty department and they gave me a pair to borrow for the weekend while they fixed my pair and they were the new 2011 model also. Customer service is my number one concern when paying as much as we do for the gear we buy, and they exceeded my expectations.

I have had a Klim coat and bibs since 2004. Klim has a lifetime warranty on the
waterproofing of their products. Mine were no longer waterproof so I called Klim and sent them back. They sent me new bibs and coat within days, no
questions ask. I haven't tried Motorfist, but with customer service like I just
got from Klim, I will be a lifetime customer.

I don't think that you can go wrong with either, it comes down to price and costumer service. You can find good deals on Klim if you are patient and don't need to have the latest and the greatest, wait a year and buy last years, or even used. Klims service is great for most, some people have had issues and have voiced there opinion about their dissatisfaction with Klims warranty. Motorfist is a little less expensive and will stand by there product at least for now, we'll see when they start having failures a few years down the road how they handle their warranty. I know that you see a lot of people wearing Klim, why is that? Because it flat out works. JMO. :face-icon-small-win

I have klim bibs and motor fist pants. It is pretty hard to beat klim. The motorfist stuff seems awesome but it is too early to tell. As of right now, either way you go should be good. My wife loves her motorfist bibs but she has always liked her klim stuff too. The motorfist stuff seems stiffer and doesn't seem to want to ride up on my boots like my klim bibs will. I do snap the strap around my laces. The mf have metal hooks that seem like they would pop off if your laces loosened up but I havn't hooked them since they don't seem to ride up. As far a waterproof or breathability, I can't tell yet. Either way you go you should be happy.

I've had KLIM freeride pants for 6 years now...so I'm comparing 6 year old KLIM pants to brand new Motorfist pants.

That being said...I've worn my MF Rekon pants now a couple days...WOW. I love em. They are GREAT. Zippers go all the way to the hip. I can put my Rekons on without removing my boots. My old KLIM freerides only had a mid-calf zipper. HATED that. I was always last getting ready. Might speed that process up a little now.

Bought a pair of motorfist bibs this year. Finally got to test them this week in Wyoming. Rode in cold conditions (when we got back to the truck, it said minus 17F). I stayed warm and dry with the bibs. The fit is great and they seem to be very well made!

Scott, the klim tog bibs have had the waist height zipper for years now, so really no difference there. I have klim bibs, been wearing them for 4 years and they are awesome, but I do have one complaint though. If you ride nothing but powder you'll notice the boot cuffs let snow in, they don't seem to close properly on the top of the boot cuff and the bottom of my legs(above my boots) has always gotten wet when riding and getting stuck in powder. I don't know if motorfist has a better system or not.
I do know other than that one issue klims are pretty much totally waterproof even when completely submerged under water for short bursts. I've stood in creekbeds with them on trying to help buddies get unstuck.
I would really like to try the motorfist though to see if they stack up, you can't beat the price!

There are guys wearing Choko who think it's as good as Klim.

It's a lame point trying to compare MF to Klim. They don't compare and it's not fair to MF to try to compare them. MF makes great gear but they need to be compared to non Gore-Tex prodcuts.

Motorfist

I have to disagree. Event is the newest technology out there. The US Army is using it in some applications. I have both and I think if I had to only choose one it would Motor. The best thing about it is if it has a problem take it to your dealer and they give you a new one johny on the spot so there are no missed days.

Used both and motor fist is hands down better!!..for me!!! fit is perfect, and the E-vent is awesome technology! MF all the way:face-icon-small-hap

You might want to double check your sources.

eVent was invented by Gore over 25 years ago. Most people have no idea eVent is simply a copy of Gore-Tex something like 40 versions ago. eVent was a great product for Gore, it met all of their standards in terms of waterproofness and breathability, it just delaminated to fast and could not hold a good seam seal. eVent is the oldest technology on the market when it comes to waterproof breathable membranes. Gore has moved so far past this technology it's not even on their radar any more. eVent tried to copy a few of the newer versions of Gore-Tex, but went bankrupt a couple of times trying. They have now been bought out by GE who has elected to invest very little into further development and sells the membrane to anyone who wants to buy it but do not offer any guarantee on the product, nor are they involved in the end use of the product.

It's true the US Military did enter into a contract using eVent. It took less than a year for them to realize the gear they were making was delaminating just as Gore told them it would. Gore being the top notch company they are stepped up and took over the contract and got our soliders in the gear they deserved.

You seem pretty knowledgeable Handman. Where do you get your info?? Do you work for a Gore company?

People will continue to wear MF stuff and say that it is good. Labs and good marketing from Gore can't beat a dude in Wyoming spending his hard earned cash on gear and saying it works consistently. Look at the posts just in this thread about MF gear working.

BTW the military still uses event. In fact the MF gear that is out right now uses Narcote faciltiy (military manufacturing) for the gear that is out right now!!

Event is also patented. It is not old Gore. Event was invented just a few years back. If Gore wanted to copy event they cant. event is patented. While Gore on the other hand CAN BE copied. no patent for Gore.

It does hold a seam seal. If it didn't it would'nt be gear of the year in almost every category in the outdoor industry. As a matter of fact Gores #2 customer Mountain Hardwear just dropped Gore and is now using event tech. Sounds like they have faith in the event tape, membrane ect ect....Why would such a large company drop Gore and use event???? Think about it...:face-icon-small-coo

Event didn't go bankrupt. They are owned by GE. Last i checked General Electric still finances the sled you are probably riding on and the rocket that is going into space. This is just a totally false statement.

Event DOES offer a guarantee that MotorFist is privy to. If MF has a problem event backs them. Why do you think MF offers such a great warranty??? Because they are backed with their exclusive agreement with event. If you would like Mf could put aag that says "I have a super dry butt 100% guaranteed!" But someone else has already gone that route...

On another note, Polaris had a 1% failure rate with event. 1%!! Since MF has taken exclusive rights from Polaris those numbers can be gotten from any Polaris dude in the know. And they have nothing to hide. They can't sell event anymore. So they will tell you the truth.

I work with event. Like an alcoholic I admit that and will say i drink the event Koolaid proudly....burrrp.

I am going to stick with the Motorfist bibs they fit good and I like the laces hook on the snow gaitors.
I have a problem with the pricing, our local MF store sold the bibs to my wife for $459.00 + HST and you can order right from MF on the internet for $100 less. I think the factory could support the stores a little better than that.

Thanks for all the input. My wife has event polaris pants for the last 4 years and they have stood up well.
