Just out of curiosity, did any of you guys right off the bat have the same red flags about these claims that I did or is it because I am naturally cynical or have women's intuition? (Must be the former because we have Becky Shay to disprove the latter.)

When I was talking to the the county attorney, city attorney's scy, Dept of Corrections, US Marshal, AG, undersheriff, POST director, Dpt of Labor and Industry, FBI, MTSPOA, risk management, etc., etc., I got asked a lot "why are you so interested?" The answer was because something is OBVIOUSLY wrong here and you have the potential of men with guns who won't divulge any information, making over-the-top promises, bringing prisoners into my state.

And I'm not that bright....

I can sort of see Con Man + Desperate Port Authority defaulted on a bond for a $27 million piece of crap jail = blinders.

But what's Becky Shay's excuse?

This is a link to the Court Transcripts from Hilton's hearing that KULR8 has posted on their website. The transcripts state that Hilton was to get 250 grand to set up a Police Dept. in Hardin. It is a possibility that is where the con was at.

I can't believe how stupid Becky (I'm now Dumber than my A$$ is Wide) Shay is for falling for Hilton. Then there is the TRA board and the City of Hardin Representatives. What a bunch of ignorant, stupid Morons. How did they buy into this nonsense?

This is a link to a report about Two Rivers Board Meeting last night. Apparently TRA owes Michael Hilton $1500.00. The TRA President is stepping down and he and Al Peterson will not seek new terms. It is like rats jumping off a sinking ship. The article also said that Becky Shay is the former APF spokesman and she and five other applicants have applied for the TRA director position. I have a feeling that Becky doesn't stand a chance after all of the public scrutiny they have received. If they hired her, there would be more scrutiny.......Just My Opinion.

The best part of the story. Former TRA attorney Becky Convery is being billed for office cleanup by the TRA. Apparently she kept a goat, rabbits, and a stray dog in her TRA office. IF that doesn't put a light on the type of people they are, nothing will.

Who on here has acted like they think people from Hardin are smart? Maybe you should read previous posts before you post.

Also it isn't nice to categorize all of the residents of Hardin into one group. I am sure that there are some very good people in that town. The people of that town that I question are the TRA board, the Hardin city council and some others that have been associated with this APF mess.

Very true.

What is sad about this whole story is, It just shows what some American citizens will do for money, power, etc. There are way to many people in this country that would rather sell their souls than stand up for what's right, and that is why this country is on the wrong path. The lack of morals and ethics in this country is getting scary. Sometime go down to walmart or some other busy store and see how many people will say excuse me or move if they are in the way. Generally it is only around 20 to 30 percent that will have manners, the other 70 percent doesn't care about you or anyone else but themselves.

This mess in Hardin is a prime example of what is happening in our country and what desperate people will do.....it is flat out scary.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today issued the following statement in reaction to renewed reports that the Guantanamo Bay prisoners could be housed in Hardin, Montana.

“While no one has worked harder than me to help Hardin find inmates, shipping international terrorists to Montana is not the answer. We can’t afford a half-baked policy to solve an overcooked political problem. I intend to do everything I can to give Montanans time to express our concerns before any decision is made. We must ensure that our safety takes precedence over political expedience.”

Update: On the 10 o'clock news on the local NBC affiliate, they said that "The Obama Administration is looking at Hardin as one of three potential sites to hold prisoners from Guantanamo Bay." Illinois is another possibility and their facility is a maximum security.
