i switched mie tonight and now the big keel is on the inside i thought what the heck it cant hurt to try it the stock ones suck imo so i had nothing to loose. anyone else try it i havent rode it yet so i dont have a report but maybe someone else has something to add.

Look at the tip of your skiis I think they will be tilted bad now. I cut the ouside of mine off just at the outside of the plastic runner on the under side. They side hill better and don't hold back in the crust.

I switched last year for a few rides. It helped with the banked carve but was sketchy on the trail. Then I got some powder pros and will never look back. leans over way easier.

never gave it a thought until this post, then i went out and looked at the keel on the bottom, 09 summit is exact opposit of my 02 summit. I think it's worth trying, dang thing can't dart any worse on the trail. :beer;:beer;:)

I switched mine from side to side on the Rev. Huge improvement. That big keel/runner on the outside is a horrible idea IMO. I know they're not the same skis but I think they are pretty similar. Take that for what it's worth I guess.

ill try anything, im gonna learn to ride that chasis if it kills me lol, wait i have a bruise on my arm the size of a grapefruit from trying to carve that sled in marginal snow and it bucked me off, maybe i shoud be careful what i say.

If you want a huge improvement, drop the front skid mount by 7/8". You may have to snug up the limiter strap though to stop ski lift too much when climbing. I had to go 1 tighter than stock when before I ran 1 looser than stock. This is the answer for this chassis. IMO.

Also takes out the rear sag.

Did you drop the rear mount as well Teth-Air?

Did this make any difference for how the sled "gets up on step" (like a boat). I love this sled, and it climbs like a billygoat when its up on step.......but find that if you lose that and it starts plowing, it will still climb but not nearly as well. Ive heard that the dragons and Ms stock for stock will outclimb the xp on a wide open pull. Im guessing this is why. You would think dropping your skid would increase this though??? Thanks for any feedback you can give.

No I did not drop the rear. I wanted it lighter in the front and dropping the rear would rotate the weight forward again. I find no difference in deep snow but the nice thing is you now have tons of adjustment from limiter strap to spring tensions that seemed not to make a whole lot of difference previously. The support brackets on the inside of the tunnels need to be removed, rotated and re-rivited to put the 3 holes vertical instead of horizontal. The reason the Dragons out climbed the xp's has been more to do with clutching and that they get tons of track speed as they have less traction. They simply shift all the way out because they are not held back by the track being only 15 inches wide. They only need 2 clutch positions, open and closed. (easy to make a clutch do that) IMO

One other thing, if you reduce or eliminate the sag, it is like dropping the rear mount to some extent.

So, if you didnt drop the skid, would you loosen or tighten limiter to keep the skiis on the ground? Mine pops up a little too much I think. How would this affect the rest of the ride, or would it?

thanks guys. Im gonna look at swapping skiis also.

Tightening it will give you more ski pressure. It will lift the center (front of the skid) of the sled so to speak. If you let the limiter out, it will lower the center and create a teeter totter effect, reducing ski weight.

thanks everyone for your opinions, ill look into the front mount on the tunnel, i know on my revs i used to like to let the limiter out so the track sat flat on a floor front and rear, my xp has 1" gap between the lugs and floor even with the limiter all the way out. no kidding it will have heavier ski pressure.
