Anyone have their colonoscopy yet?

In most cases, health insurance coverage for routine/preventive colonoscopy is limited by both age and frequency. In other words, your health insurance plan may cover 1 colonoscopy every ten years beginning at age 50. If having this pleasurable procedure more often and want it covered you should have it pre-authorized by you insurance company. This is easily done when the procedure is ordered by you MD for diagnostic purposes due to family history of colon cancer.

I understand the importance of getting it done but the entire concept is a bit daunting. I get concerned about the anal seepage part too, I mean just exactly what is that mucus looking substance leaking out, last time I checked KY did not look like that. At least they put you to sleep thus avoiding that whole " Hey Doc back that thing up, I taste metal". I think I would feel better if a Female Doc did it, wouldn't feel quite so violated or something. Maybe this fall before sledding season and after bike season...just so I have enough time to drink the memory away.

I had some stomach problems when I was 30 and had one done. Prep the night before was the worst part, I passed out and fell off the toilet and woke up to my wife on the phone with the emergecy room. They wanted me to eat and reschedule but there was no way I was going to go through this again.
Made it to the procedure the next morning, they knocked me out, and I woke up to the sweet voice of a hot nurse. I asked her if she was the one who did the probing. When she said that she assisted, somehow it made everything alright. :face-icon-small-ton
Wifey finds it odd, that everytime I talked about the colonoscopy the hot nurse comes up.
