I've got a big history in my family of colon cancer. Everyone in a certain lineage seems to get it by their late 40s.

So being proactive I got it done at 37.

What's your family history? Do they find polyps?


Don't mess around with that stuff....get it checked.

Good post...a topic that's uncomfortable for some

Posting for hubby...he had it done early too...at 37 this year. He was freaked out but when it came down to it, it was a breeze and not near as bad as he originally thought. I was extremely impressed as he has a female doctor that is the same age as him...but maybe that made it better in some strange way

What sucked was the prep the night before...drinking that sour lemon flavored crap and pooping water for 6 hours....but HEY, I lost 4 pounds. LOL That wasn't great, but it was tolerable.

The procedure was a breeze. I was layin there and when the doc came in the nurses turned on the oxygen and admin'd the stuff into the IV and within 30 secs I was ready for a nap.

A short time later I woke up and was ready for them to start...and they were all done. LOL They talked all about how it went, I got dressed and they wheeled my shakey feeble arse outside.

Now that I look back on it...I don't hardly remember ANYTHING afterward. Just bits and pieces. I went home and slept for 6 hours. LOL.

I VAGUELY remember them telling me they pulled two polyps and later that night it all made sense when I saw the pics laying on the kitchen counter.

my friend's grandpa died of colon cancer at 50s or 60s i dont rmemeber. His aunt went to the doctor and found out she had colon cancer so she went in surgery and didnt find the cancer so shes fine.

well the doctor thought she has it so they have to open her up and look inside and there was no cancer. Just like double check, never know if the test is wrong or right.

ha..you have no idea what the doc already did in there...she may not be virgin pow anymore..especially since your complaining about leakage....<scotts face after leaving the docs office......
