Looking to go tomorrow, anyone up there today to verify what this last storm dumped?

Let's keep this going. There is a group from MN going up there the middle of January and need to keep up what is happening. Thanks in advance for the updates.

snowies snow conditions

hi y'all, spoke with several folks that spent the last couple of days playing up by the top. 6 foot of powder dropped, winds have been the same as normal, blowing, lol. i have been told that on the east side is some of the best snow they've seen in years. 3 families came to the old corral yeasterday, spent the afternoon riding, came back really happy, great fun.

its cold out so dress really warm, this morning is the highest we've seen in the past few days, 28.

East side of the mountian has enough snow to cover up most of the rocks and stumps. Not enough to hold you up off of em, but enough to hide em.

Be careful. No base yet.
West side has more snow and you should be able to hit it pretty good.

Olliie's on the money, we went around the west in the meadows between the trail and the mountain all the way up past Quealy to the barrels. Poked down into the barrels and turned around at the base of widow. After that went north toward Sand Lake and came back in behind Rock Creek Knoll-- not a track up there, Good snow and getting a base.

Well Travis, how was it?? I'm trying for a Wed/Thurs ride up there.

As expected, once we got past Lake Marie and turned up toward French Creek the snow got, well, really good! Still managed to find a few landmines, bent a bogie wheel but no real damage. We tried to head up behind Widow to see what the roller coaster was like, but it was getting way too thin about 3/4 of a mile before so we turned around. Lots of untracked areas, lots of potential through the trees, a couple more storms and we should be good for the season back there.

Nytro did awesome! Had to pull out Johnnie (his fault he got stuck, but I have witnesses to the event!). Rode a buddy's new '09 Dragon 800. Quite impressive machine. Much improved over the IQ chassis.

Wed/Thurs might work fine for me, gimme a hollar as it gets closer.

We rode today, the backside had much more than I expected. We did quite a bit of boondocking, but had to take really easy. Nobody broke anything major just a broken lower control arm bolt on an 1M.

We also picked our way through the rollercoaster to the notch. Not much snow back there, the notch isn't passable yet.

Awesome first ride, it feels good to be snowmobiling again!

Snowies

Rode On Sat....snow was OK towards the toilet bowl and around Lake Marie. As far as the Widowmaker and the pipeline(rollercoaster) Don't try it for awhile!! It's all rocks!!! Seen lot's of guys with A arms missin so beware. Toilet bowl was climeable on all faces and for a few miles around for some fun. Snow was deep in spots with not much base but thats the fun of it right!

found lots of rock and one stump that I really did not want to find. the snow that is on the back side will make a good base, if they get another foot or two we will be in business.

Is it worth coming from Minnesota to go up from Laramie December 18th till the 21st? Me and a couple buddys got 3 new sleds and wanna try them out and break them in but I dont wanna BREAK in my new timbersled A-arms. We have a buddy that lives in Laramie so it will be a pay for fuel only trip! If we do come out is there anybody that wants to ride with us?

The Range is suppose to get a good 3 day storm this Sunday thru Tuesday!! So hopefully this will put us with enough snow to go all over and start climbing the biguns!! So if this happens You will have a great time..

I've consulted my crystal ball, but all it's showing me are the winning lottery numbers.......:beer;

Ok I've had enough. Yes the snow will be good on March 15 or January 6, or whatever date your going. Really does it matter, I would rather be in the mountains than at work anyday of the week with good or bad snow. I really can't think of one bad day of riding in 15 + years. I think I'm going to stroke out at work. Where's my medicine.......

Wow settle down dude! Us guys from the midwest have no snow to go riding so we are excited to get out in the mountains and do some riding. You don't have to read this stuff if you don't want to. If you are at work don't you have something else to do?

we were out last weekend. snow was awesome, but plenty of land mines, should be good the rest of the winter.
