Anyone have a RK-Tek big bore on a 800R?

I ran the 880 in a full mod XRS @ 424 lbs. Timbersled front and rear.It highmarked a turbo Apex in deep powder and he attempted 3 times to match it.The weight really comes into the picture in the steep and deep, The turbo power was impressive. I ran it against a turbo nitro which we have not had any new deep snow to compare,It too was impressive on the harder snow.We also have a Turbo dragon which is pretty close in climbing ability however keeping it tunned has beed difficult.People everything has its limits,Some good some bad and there is no perfect sled, The Turbos pay the price in the additional weight and turbo lag!Just ride what fits your style. The 880 is in the same league as the monster turbos and the Turbos I ride with have seen this first hand, The snappy low end is simply fun in the trees and deep bumps and climbs. sometimes they win and sometimes they dont.Irun the Aaen single pipe to cut the weight

lol. What kind of turbo was on that sled?? I have had and still do have mod two stokes and a turbo apex with a bd turbo and sorry bud, but i have not seen a two stoke come near the apex climbing, the deeper the better. at only 15 pounds boost it gets 95+ mph track speed. Sorry to rain on you parade but i think, actually i know the 880 your talking about would not stand a chance.

I guess what you are saying is since the turbo apex there hasn't been a race in open mod that was won by anything but a turbo?

No thats not what im saying, there is alot of two strokes out there that are complete savages. That post sounded a little off from the truth thats all.I dont want to start a debate on two strokes verse four stokes and hi jack this thread. And the 1500 you talked about that Norm owned and Reed owned before and changed hands twice after and is still around. I have ridden it and raced agaist it in Barkerville when Reid owned it,and didnt a turbo mach z beat it that weekend?? Lary something owned that sled. So ya i do know a little about the two stoke game and the old hill climb circuit.

When I was refering to was cold weather deep fresh powder snow the turbo yamahas didn't make it half way up the hill ,you probably know when and were this was ,the cold deep absolute fluff is why I brought this up,I know and you know this is where a feather weight big bore non turbo has a likely chance of kicking it's azz .Sorry about the old news we no longer have a hillclimb circuit here.but Iv'e seen this scenario many times this year early in the year when the weathers cold and the pow is deep and fluff ,anyway just my opinion.all in fun:)

Where the He11 do you see where he said that???? If i were to attempt a better job of rereading what he said it would be " I have never seen a well setup 860-880 xp beat a well setup turbo yammie". And i agree , if you have to find the absolute perfect scene where thats likely you are looking for a needle in a haystack. And those of you who have seen turbos choking in deep snow are either dreaming of saw some sheetily setup sleds. I have seen them with the filter completely covered and they were still screaming.

your right he didn't say that ,I guess i was being a little argumentative ,still not impressed with the turbo yamahas in deep powder, riding in deep powder were i ride isn't a needle in a hay stack ,I'm sorry to hear about your **** riding area.

I caution the trygstad setup..customer service isn't worth a dam and we ended up going else where to get all of his bugs out!!

You have to excuse Trygstad for being busy as he is the engine builder entrusted with building Ski-Doo's sno-cross and Hillclimb team motors. So he is a very busy man.

jimmy, or anyone with the trygstad lightweight crank, i heard a few guys likeing them and a few guys having issues, or they lasting??
