Anyone ever conceal carry when riding?

It is illegal to carry a firearm on a snowmobile in Washington state even with concealed permit.

I wouldn't let that stop me. I just wouldn't be pulling it out to show it off, ever!! If its concealed they won't find it. Unless you have firearm pat-down checkpoints on the trail!

I have tried it. Once. Would only ever try it again with a pocket pistol IN my pocket. Anything larger on your person while riding is a p.i.t.a. In my classes they teach that jacket pockets, bags and such are a no no for conceal and carry. In a bag or take your coat off, now its not in your immediate possession or control and there for careless. :noidea:

I carry enough stuff and dont need to add to the list.

Every extra item adds weight.

If a loud noise alerts searchers, carry some aerial fireworks, best of both worlds.

If worried sledding may get u in a situation, then maybe dont go there anymore.

My old sw sigma fit right in a klim pocket like it was built for it, took my ar with a shoulder strap three times just to go plink around

I carry a glock 43 which is a subcompact 9mm. I have not carried snowmobiling. But If I did I would definitely not have one in the chamber or likely even have the mag in the gun, just to much bouncing around for me to feel comfortable with one in the chamber.

Wow. A gun for sleddin'? Godda be a new aftermarket opportunity here.
We have some big cats here in Yakima, u can see the tracks in the snow. There are black bears too, see them in the summer but i think they are asleep by the time sleddin starts.
Either way, i think the animals will run from the sounds of the sleds and the sledders hootin and hollering

Some states do not allow carrying a firearm on a snowmobile even with a conceal carry permit. SD is one of the states that does allow carrying a firearm on a snowmobile in compliance with a conceal carry permit. If your state allows carrying a firearm I would not recommend carrying a un-holstered loaded weapon in a coat or bib pocket. Too much of a chance of accidental discharge. Secure the weapon in a holster. I carry a Glock 22 while on snowmobile patrol. The duty weapon is secured in a serpa holster configured in a cross draw configuration either tucked into my Klim Free ride pants by the holsters paddle or secured to a belt. Even with the larger frame of the Glock 22 and my smaller frame the gun rides well and does not seem to interfere with a multitude of riding positions. Plus I know my loaded weapon is secure and I have easy access to it under my coat.

I believe the proper term here is. "Concealed is Concealed". You would never know if I was or was not armed. Unless you also carry and know what to look for.
Some of the responses here are,,,,,,interesting to say the least!
