anyone buy a wrote off sled and didnt know?

couldnt have said it better myself spur...but these guys dont want to help...period

they both made money on the sled when they sold it...and dont want to lose there profit...even knowing what they did was wrong...money rules most people these days...even putting money ahead of there reputation...

but it seems like some guys would rather keep a bit of money rather than admitting they were wrong and helping out...

people these days are getting run by greed, and just look after themselfs...
i hate that this is happening...

here a pic that chis sent me of the front end...

notice how high the outside of the ski is comapred to the inside of the ski...

all the pics he sent the skis were tuned...and it never clicked till i seen the sled why he did that...

bell put used a-arms on the sled after he bent the bulkhead, and thats why is was so hard to tell what happened...till you look at the skis when they are straight...

hopefully i can get off work to take some pics...always busy at work when i need to do somthing home....

finally got the evening off to take some pics...

as you can see i even put my new skis on just to make sure the stock skis wasnt causing the bent look...
the skis were bent ,but not causing the whole bent look
the top a arm mounts in the bulkhead are bent in a quarter inch...
can see the a-arms are mint as well (aka replaced)
inside of the c&a xtc skis are touching the ground...outside is 1 inch off the ground...left ski is bent slightly more than the right...
the toe in and out is messsed up bad as well...

shipping damage...yeah chris

Are you sure the bulkhead is tweaked? You can adjust your toe in/out and camber????

A sled will be a nightmare to ride with a bad toe in/out and/or camber.

i havent driven the sled yet, cause i want to see whats going to happen...

if the skis dont sit flat, the only thing that could be wrong is the upper a arm is pushed in...there is no adjustment for that...

toe in and out is off a mile, and thats adjustable...its not adjusted for the bent bulkhead...still must be the same toe in and out as before the bulkhead damage...

hope thes next pics turn out bigger

Just fix what you can and ride it. Learn from the mistakes you made and move on. I hate to see a guy spend good money on something and not get what he thought he was paying for, but it does happen. Its up to the buyer to check things over or have it looked at, the seller doesn't have to tell you everything. But in the case of a sled I'd say common sense would tell you that a used turbo sled needs to be looked at close.

I purchased a sled from a friend a few years back and on the first ride out the crank broke. I could have phoned him up and started giving him crap asking for money, but in the end it was still my fault for not looking at the sled before I got it. that was the last time I took someones word for it, now I check everything out before I buy. to this day I never once blamed him, I've always thought how stupid I was for just handing him money without so much as firing it up.

I think a crank going out is something that could go out whether you checked it or not.

As far as the seller not having to tell you what is wrong, I totally disagree. I think by law he has an obligation to disclose any damage he knows of, especially major damage like that. One could even argue that that kind of damage could be a safety convern.

Raw deal for sure. My last 4 sleds have been boughten on here sight unseen, never any probs. I have a couple of friends that have bought 2 and 3 sleds respectively sight unseen without any problems as well. Pretty hard to check for damage at times, unless you take a sled for 1/2 day ride to see how it runs, that would be ideal, but hwo many of us do that.

I feel for ya. Good luck and hope things work out for you. I think you have a good case, but you gotta prove that he knew about the damage and failed to disclose that bit of information. If you can do that, I think you're golden.

I didn't make things super clear in my post. yes a crank could break at anytime, but mine went due to a bad bearing that could be felt in the whole sled. At the time I didn't know any better and rode the sled thinking it was normal. but a trained professional would've caught it. I was still very young back then.

And yes the seller is suppose to tell you about any possible safety problems they know of, but that doesn't mean everything., this one boils down to if the seller knew of the problem or not.

and I will not hand anyone any money on used products till I try it or check it out. 15,000 dollars is alot of money and should be treated as such.

I don't have anything else to say about this, just thought I'd share my experiences and thoughts on the whole thing. hope I didn't sound negative in either post, I wasn't try'n to.

Not at all, I just feel bad for the dude. BUT, like others have said, get a new bulkhead and tunnel, and start getting it switched around, at least you'll be able to ride. Shouldn't be that expensive, just a lot of time!

Sorry you're in that situation....that really does suck!

IMO........I think the seller should do the right thing and help you out with a new bulkhead. Even if he covered half the parts it would be better than nothing. If the guy is a mechanic then he has a little more responsibility to provide an honest assessment of the sleds condition. Especially when he tells the buyer this, and the buyer is purchasing it sight unseen. Top it off with the fact that he made a bunch of money on the sled, and the right thing to do is buy MOD800R a new bulkhead...........or at the very least, pay for half of it. Even with this he's probably still money ahead.

deaner, chris and brandon know they messed up, and hoped i would never notice...
brandon pawned it off on chris, and chris did the same to me...so we are dealing with 1st class slimeballs here...

he knows hes wrong cause i always had somthing to say when he tried to defend himself...and i offered him my password to snowest so he can read the emails i got from brandon of him telling me the bulkhead was bent, and how it blows belts, and even how he covered it up...

but all he has done since this info came across is been silent...he knows he ****ed up, but hes not a big enough man to admit it...

gonna leave him a few days to see if he or brandon will help me out...if not going to small claims court, and i will fix the sled myself...

last offer chris, i think i have been patient with your bull**** and lies...so your lucky i am even doing this last ditch effort for you, so save some of the reputation you hadnd be able to go on these forums as per normal...

and thanks guys for all the help and support! i still think this place has mostly good people here, only a few bad apples to deal with from time to time!

I've been silent because i was out of town for a few days. Unlike some people i can't play on the computer all day while i'm working. Nice pictures, shows alot of proof Paul. You still haven't sent me anything. You're full of s*it and haven't shown me any proof whatsoever. I never said i was a mechanic i was in Parts and Sales, get your story straight. I never knew about any such damage, i haven't seen any damage still and Brandon has yet to admit to me personally about any damage. I'm not paying for pretend damage PERIOD. This is the end of it and that's final. Next time get insurance when you transport something.

i had insurance, personal insurance...but it isnt damage from the shipping...

and the pics do show that the skis do not sit flat on the ground...pretend damage...are you blind?
why do you need me to send you anything>? the proof is all in this post...pics, brandons pm's here on snowest...
what do you need?

and i felt i am a good judge of character

:confused::confused: How did that work for you?
All of this could have been avoided with a little common scents.

Bingo

Why would you buy anything with out looking at it? A used turbo is going to be ridin like a thai hooker, and who gives a chit about the first owner, you bought a used sled with out loking at it. Grow up take your lumps and learn your lesson.
